The Hero

Hello all its me hero again yay(not) due to the advice of many people on this board I will Produce a short game based off of Jyoou no Kyoushitsu(queens classroom)~
Plot:Maya Akutsu, a sixth-grade teacher who dresses all in black and is repeatedly referred to as "oni sensei" (the teacher from hell), when, in fact, she seems to be an ultrarealist at heart. The drama focuses on a year in her classroom and, particularly, the effect it has on 12-year-old Kazumi--a nice but mediocre student whose parents want to send her to a private secondary school.

Akutsu-sensei accomplished this feat by introducing a test-based rank and privilege system on the first day. The highest scorers on the Monday morning test get their choice of seats and other perks while the two lowest scorers are burdened with all the chores for the week from blackboard and toilet cleaning to serving lunch. The system also disallows toilet breaks during class because this reflects an inability to manage one's own schedule.

Kazumi gets the first week's work assignment along with the class clown, a warmhearted boy who is not nearly as silly as he acts. The child actors in the series are all likeable pros who give realistic portrayals of the wide spectrum of an average classroom from the isolated serious students to the sophisticated girls who think they already know what life is all about. Akutsu-sensei lets them know immediately that they do not have a clue.

When the students protest her system and call it unfair, she tells them to open their eyes. In Japanese society, she lectures, those who work hard or have influence get all the privileges, and the lazy or less affluent end up with the leftovers. She says only six in 100 people can expect to be happy and the elite already have most of the advantages and access to the best medical care. She tells them that, as products of the public school system, they will have to scramble to get anything at all, and most of them will end up as "bonjin" (ordinary people), to whom those on the top will be happy to leave the soldiering and service-sector jobs.

I wish you luck in this, Branden, but you don't need to post your intentions here.  Wait until you've worked on it a little bit more than... say... copying and pasting the story description from another website.

Make some graphics, program a bit in AGS, and when you know that you're going to see this one through, then post a detailed description in the Game in Production area.  People will then become interested because the game is something more than just an idea, which is all it is now.

Work hard!  Good luck!

By the way, I'm watching a drama now with my wife called "Galileo."  Only the first three episodes have aired, but it's pretty good.  Kind of like a reverse X-Files.  You should check it out.  Though, maybe not enough fan service for you.  :P

Okay, hold it, hold it, hold it...

You copied the synopsis from a DVD as the description for your game?  Are you ripping off the story and calling it your game?

What's going on here, Branden?

(Good catch on that website, Vince.)

He's saying that he's making a game based on that movie. Like a fan game, you know.

Sounds like a great idea if you think you'll be able to do it! :) I say you should do what Vince said and start the gamemaking and make a GiP thread.

Good luck!

Yeh man, whisk some backgrounds up and a bit of character art and lets have a look.

Interesting, although, unless you're able to duplicate all the honorifics and style of Japanese thought, speech, etc., it might be better to place the game in another environment you're more familiar with instead. :p Otherwise, the whole environment becomes rather stilted and artificial.

However, if you're excellent at reproducing the various details, go ahead. :)

Actually, at the moment, Branden and I are working on developing a new game.
I've already got some design sketches done, and we're working on the plot. We're not going to release anything until we feel ready.
However, I shall release two words:
Melvin Fartknocker.
The fediverse needs great indie game developers! Find me there!
