Bad news about a friend

I just found out a little while ago that one of my teacher's from highschool (and a close personal friend of mine,) is in the hospital now because he had either a stroke or an aneurysm.  I'm not sure they know exactly what happened.  It apparently occured this morning, and he was life-flighted to a larger hospital.  What makes it even more sad is that he's only in his thirties, and he his wife had twins earlier this year, in addition to two children they already have.

Just the other day I thought to myself that I ought to give him a call or email him or something, just to say hi.  It's been a while since we got together or talked, simply because things get so busy.

I don't have all the details yet, so I'm trying to keep things in perspective until I know exactly what's going on and how bad it is (or isn't.)

Anyway, just wanted to ramble a little bit.

Hmm, a previous work colleague of mine is in hospital today from a heart attack.

My heart goes out to both of these people in their time of need.

I hope everything turns out okay and he makes a speedy recovery.

Sending out positive vibes.

Go and visit him as soon as it will be appropriate.
And stay positive.

These things always seem to happen just before Christmas.

Is it the stress?

I second Domino's vibes, to both Raggit's and Matt's friend/colleague.

My dad had his first stroke about a month ago. After I heard about it I was really worried, but it turned out to be not that big of a deal. Well, strokes are a big deal, but he's made almost a full recovery. But for being almost 60, it's great that he isn't worse than he his.

The best thing is to just support him and let him know you're worried about him.

I don't know if it's a Christmas thing, but with four kids it could be all of the sex he's having.

Continuing the "bad news about my friends" thread:

1) A friend of mine got his liver broken at the wrestling training. He's in the hospital now.

2) Another friend got various burns on the face and partial loss of sight because of an accident with self-made fireworks. He's in a hospital now.

3)I don't know if it counts, but we had a call that a bomb is planted in our school. Evacuation. Police. Ambulance. Press. No bomb found yet.

4) Now the desert: A couple of months ago our best teacher (she really knew how to teach her subject so it is interesting) was murdered by her husband, who killed himself after a short while.

Yep, it's all true.

It is proven that people die in winter in larger numbers than during the rest of the year. My granpa died in January. It is a fact. I think it's caused by the incerased stress on the organism (Christmas, or winter weather alone can cause problems).

I wish all your friends to recover without problems.
I am sad when I hear someone complaining about simply everything, how they are poor, how many hours a day they work etc etc... They do not relalize how worse could things happen!

Raggit

I found out today that my friend is in the ICU, but is stable and conscious.  The doctors said that they suspect that it could've actually been a type of seizure and not a clot or aneurysm, but aren't going to rule anything out.

So I am glad to hear that he's stable, and I did call the hospital to try and speak with him (too soon for visitors,) but they don't have a phone in the room, so the nurse will give him a message from me.

Thanks for listening guys

I was initially offended by this statement, but now I'm just a bit confused...  Do you mean we're uptight for worrying about friends in the hospital, or so uptight we worry ourselves INTO the hospital?

I think he is talking about people where he lives not having as much stress as other folks.

That is what he meant about being so laid back...it's an island life vs. city life kind of thing.

I think it was the latter and not to be taken too seriously.  Don't be offended if he's trying to cheer you up with a little levity.
