Unfortunately, I'm sure you can find horror stories from most countries in the world. I'm pretty sure that nowhere has a monopoly on evil.

Now come on SSH, you're missing the bigger picture here.

We all know one of the most evil men of all time came from Austria. You know who I mean. He ruled over a lot of people and has caused much pain.

You know the one of whom I speak:

Maybe it's just the fact that all Austrian houses come equipped with a handy cellar for all your kidnapping needs.

Not really my point.
However, whenever the topic rises, my german housemates unanimous mention they are not very fond of Austria.
I myself can't even remember the last time I was in Austia, so I can't judge them, but I'm not planning to ever go there.

Well, Salzburg and Vienna are beautiful places and the people we met there were nice enough.

No, no... They are just worse at actually keeping them kidnapped and get caught!

An Arnie impersonator?

Yeah. That guy probably isn't even Austrian...

Apparently kidnapping is all such cellars are good for, as the guy's wife had no reason to venture down in 24 years.

I still think it's a nice country. I've traveled most of Europe and I liked Austria the best for its nice people and beautiful scenery. Like something out of a fairy tale. But I suppose even fairy tales have their villains.

Yes well, it usually is, that everything that seems nice and wonderful on the outside are the complete opposite on the inside.

Though it's not only Austria, I don't think it's a cultural thing  ::) In fact it's not long ago when Belgium had a wide paedophilia scandal reaching over the parliament and everything. We had one in Finland when I was a kid, don't really remember anything but the name of the guy, which has become a common word for cases like these. Ok, so it's not paedophilia but incest and everything else that really is awful in every way, and yeah, these things happen all around all the time, Austria just had two in a row as to say.

Having said that, I wonder, when will the world be free enough for them to show an interview of the father in question on live television. I'd love to see him try and reason with all that he's done. Awful thing indeed, one of those I'd rather ignore if I had the choise, I think.

GrüàŸ Gott!
