Bernie Mac (or B-Mac as we b-ficionados call him), star of such comedy heights as 'Guess Who' and 'Bad Santa', passed away today, aged 50, of pneumonia. So long, B-Mac, you will be missed :(

A beacon of comedic light has gone out ...

So long Bernie.

Don't forget Ocean's Eleven and Charlie's Angels 2.

As a huge b-ficionado, it's not likely that I would! I have pretty much every TV show and movie He ever starred in on DVD.

Evil

I never thought he was funny. I don't really understand a lot of the Angry Black Man humor.

Yeah I couldn't care less for that whole aspect of comedy ...

But the scene in Ocean's Eleven when he intimidates the van salesman into giving him the vans!  That is just comic gold.  I loved that scene.  Wasn't a fan of his 'til I saw that movie.

For me comedy isn't so much about what you're saying, but the timing and/or how you say it.  And Bernie Mac had great comedic timing.

Racist :(

bleh..!
So, if you don't go hugging whatever nonsense other races do, you're a racist.

Way to go, buddy!

I couldn't call myself a fan, though I had seen a number of his TV shows and movies. He was funny, though.

It's always a loss when someone passes away prematurely. 50 isn't old. Hell, 50 is becoming younger all the time.

I think everyone belonging to the Ocean' s eleven deserves a homage...  R.I.P. Mr. Mac.

Unfortunatelly, two more gentlemen will follow Bernie soon, Paul Newman and, less known for the Americans but very well known for the European football fans, Sir. Bobby Robson.
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

Domino

I found out about his death this morning and was in disbelief.  He was only 50 years old for crying out loud.

When I heard this on the news I shouted at the TV, "Bernie Mac doesn't die! You die!"

Unfortunately I failed to follow through, but admittedly I will miss the B-Mac. I did enjoy his works that I saw.

Tuomas

Yeah, he was good fun at times. Not really so much with the tv-show, but the movies were nice. It's always a bit lae when someone dies at so young age. Still, I'm more sorry for Don S. Davis dying some time earlier this summer.

Big Mac, Rest in Peace.
There's this thing... Jazz.
