I've drawn an image with an alpha channel with Photoshop CS3 and saved as png.
I've imported it to AGS, but in the image properties the AlphaChannel field says False.
So how can I import it to use its alpha channel?  ???
I am using AGS 3.1.2, my game is in 32-bit color depth.

If you go to sprites, right click on some whitespace and Import a new one (not quick import)... for me a little box pops up saying 'this image has an alpha channel, do you want to use it?'... do you not get that?

No, I don't get that message. It just imports the file as a usual png with no alpha channel...

How are you saving the .png from Photoshop?  Are you just pressing save and then selecting the type?  Are you using save for web?  Did you make sure the transparency check mark is checked when doing so?  Did you delete the solid background layer before saving (so that you can see the white and gray checkered pattern behind your image?

Just making sure.

Ok, that was the problem: the white and gray checkered pattern was merged with the image, so it appears on the import. Now I drew an image with two layer: a checkered background, the image + an alpha channel, so when I import it, the message pops up ;)
Thanks for your help!
