Damn it, why London? This is so tempting.

It's not looking very likely that I will be there in person, but I'd love to present some Resonance via webchat if you're into that!

Dude. Teleconference it. That's genius.

Also, reserved my 2-day pass. If things keep going the way they're going now, I'm sure to attend. If ever there was a good reason to go to London, this'd be it.

Cheers Voh, and also for being one of the few to register :)

PS. "Booths" are not booths, they're tables with laptops - they certainly don't need to be paid for - and I assumed you'd have something new for the public to mull over, Dave! If not, then it'd be good for you to incorporate screens/gameplay into your speech, a laptop and projecter will be provided :)

Stupot

Woohoo!
Done!
I fully intend to be there, but have absolutely no clue what my timetable is going to look like.
And I'd be more than willing to help out in any capacity... stacking chairs, wiping up spilt lemon squash, whatever.

Darn, looks like I'll have moved to China by then... :'(

Guess you'll have to send Dualnames along on your behalf then!

But, please don't do that!

:P

Wooo I was thinking about this the other day and wondering if it was going ahead. I'm glad it is ^_^ I think things will be easier once you get the site up, as it is it's kind of hard to understand what's going on as it is. How far organised is this? I suspect once it looks concrete you can do publicity and get sign ups. I wouldn't start before you have stuff booked and a nice site up.
I'd also say make sure to get a version of the poster with some nice art perhaps for some AGSers or with permission art from your guests games.

As for publicity how about talking to the International Game Developer's Association? (http://www.igda.org/ ). If you want industry support and connections they may be able to help. I believe they have a London and Guildford Chapter.

The whole thing is great. But currently I wouldn't have the money for the traveling involved. Well, maybe something changes in a couple of months.

Matt Goble

Got my reservation in ;D

Are there any plans to film the event for those who can't attend?  ;)

Brad Newsom

Suddenly I might be able to go myself. Do we have an address for the Xpo?

voh

Once more information (location, for example) is known I'd be more than willing to whittle away some hours on some promo material, if you'd like.
Still here.

Thanks people. The reservations list is slowly reaching a point where I can say "Yes" to the whole thing. It's still in its early stages, despite there being merely 6 months or so til the event itself. As I've said previously, but maybe not this clearly - Mr Boakes and Mr Cecil are confirmed whatever the weather. I have to get enough registrations to be able to get Mr Moriarty over and also Mr D Gilbert. People like Mr R Gilbert and Mr Croshaw all depend on an excessive number of reservations and ticket sales, obviously neither of those have happened yet.

There is one place in London that are definitely up for it taking place there, it's a good venue - but a little small. So I'm waiting on the number of reservations (give it another month or so, a bit more promoting by moi etc). I've been doing a lot of online location hunting and there are still other altneratives depending on the number of reservations. I'm not going to approach a bigger place if only a small amount of people take the interest and time to do the reservation thing. Obviously this isn't going to give exact figures of attendees over the weekend but you get the idea. More people, bigger set-up...just too early to tell on that front just yet ;)

It's still early days though I'm trying to get on top of this a bit more now. To be honest, a small event is perfectly hostable in a weeks time - technical side wise. It's about filling it up with fans and those people the fans are fans of!  ;D I'll have a decent website ready in a week or two, if anyone wants to give something simple a try, It would create a head-start :) But I'm aiming to get the website ready by about mid-July. I just want to build "underground" interest first, I've approached you guys, AG.com and through the week I'll be asking over at ja.com. Thanks to everyone whos sent me suggestions & also about where to publicise the event, I will be following your links and doing that at a later stage. I want to be able to say no interest generated there is fine, and an overload is even better - if you know what I mean? iykwim? :)

Azure - good ideas, this thread is open, anyone can chip in. It's not just about turning up, it's about seeing everyone here's stuff there at the event. Think of it as an extreme show and tell I guess. Therefore I hope the poster does turn about to be something made by someone here - it's something I'll get round to asking people about so thank you, maybe now you've given those people a head start ;)

Brad - no address yet, central london with a hint of battersea depending on how big it is. I've recently been looking for places on the Circle Line and will be getting some quotes through the week :) But the place near Battersea I believe are keen to hold a small event for free. So watch this space!

NoEyeDeer - GoodEyeDear. If it can't be webcast well, it'll be filmed - without a doubt :)

Voh - thanks! well keep track of this thread and when you get the info you need, I'll be interested to see! Also, it would be cool to have a Resonance showing via web-chat at one of the key sections of the show. Perhaps we can promote that :)

Thanks again to everyone who registered/reserved whatever you want to call it. It's all about numbers right now! I'll be sure to get some quotes from the guest speakers to help you be positive they're going to attend, and I'll be working on some other cool, but probably turn out crap things, to make sure it seems like you get your moneys worth :P

Thanks for the support! It's fun to organise :D

voh

It'll be fun to meet those of you who'll be going, and BASS is my most favouritest game EVER. So yeah, I guess I've got no choice :)

I'll keep this thread in check and when I feel I've got enough ideas/information I'll give shit a whirl :)
Still here.

Brad Newsom

Yes, voh....BASS is AWESOME!

My company has a unique Seek n Find Adventure Casual game in development. I wouldn't mind seeing if we can get some playtime with the beta during the event.

zabnat

I already reserved a place and then looked through the deals on flights and accomodation. All the accomodation were pretty expensive. You had an option with tickets and accomodation on the first page. Will this option be available and is the price realistic? I mean it's a lot cheaper than any of the flight+hotel packages I looked through.

m0ds

Hi Zabnat, thanks for letting me know. I'll have a look at hotel deals, so far the best deal I can find is £58 for 2 nights (Sat & Sun) in a central London Travel-Lodge (Battersea). I'm sure the accomodation ticket type can be included and I will make sure it doesn't exceed £70. I'll let you know as I make progress on the accomodation option, so thanks for reminding me! :)

Mods, did you see this? Apparently Just Adventure does not believe AdventureX is real!  ??? You'd better contact them soon, I already sent JA-Staff2 a message.

Stupot

Shit! That's not good publicity... JustAdventure think you are trying to scam their members!
Just PM them with a link to this thread.
Why not set up a Blogspot page for the event too.  That way people can get constant RSS updates if they want.

JA-Staff2 still hasn't read the e-mail so I started a new thread just to be safe. I'm sure it's only a matter time before this misunderstanding is sorted out.

QuoteMods, this kind of thing can happen when someone hacks your website and inserts some hard to find malicious code.  Looking through your page source, I found:

on this page: http://screen7.co.uk/film/phat/index.htm

I'm not sure what it does, but it doesn't look like something intended.  You should look through all the pages on your site and remove the offending code.  Then, get google to change your site's status from a malware site to a clean site.  I'm not 100% sure how to do that, but http://www.google.com/addurl/ might be the place to start.  Also, change your passwords.

Thanks, you're right - that does keep appearing, even after I delete it again!

And for some reason clicking on some pages tries to load "martuz.cn" whatever the s**t that is. I'll look into this, cheers! :)

LOL so sorry Vince I must've hit edit rather than reply with quote! LOL :/ - m0ds
