The Legend of Seth the Bard:
A combination of KQ1 graphics/gameplay and the story of the old BBS game, The Legend of the Red Dragon.

This has been my first experience with AGS, and I made this game in about 2.5 weeks as a 2D game design project for school. Also the interior graphics were done up for me by an awesome friend, but we ran out of time on the exterior screens, so I had to do those in paint in the last two hours before it was due. So don't judge me too harshly.  ;)

Congratulations on your first release CraZyMuffin!  I'm enjoying the game so far, it's definately a nice first release.

You might want to turn debug mode off though :)

Well the best way to get rid of debug mode is through the General Settings in AGS Editor, which can be found at the top of the right hand menu area.

Find The Compiler section and change "Enable Debug Mode" to false.  That will do it.

Has anyone gotten a chance to play this game? I would really like to know what you think of it, or if there are more bugs which I can fix.

I noticed the download page doesn't have any comments or a rating for it yet either, if anyone would like to rate it.

On a side note, I finished a sequal to this game, but it is actually an MMORPG using the Torque Game Engine and the Torque MMO Kit by Prairie Games. I know it doesn't belong in these forums, but if anyone is interested in checking it out, you can navigate to my projects home page (listed above) and join me and my friends for some adventures in the 3D realm.  ;)

Only managed to get a "sad" ending, but found the game overall surprisingly enjoyable. It does feel a lot like the old fantasy RPGs and adventures in a strange way, and that brought some good memories. So thanks, that's a nice first AGS release! :)

Alright, I promised to play and I must say, no regrets. Haven't finished yet but saw enough to comment on.

You captured the look and feel of the old king's quest perfectly! Great sound, simplistic characters and backgrounds. There could have been more items and details in some of them but it's a good start. Every object and hotspot has it's reply so no boring clicks.

I also like the fact that you get the random events which gives the game just a little extra and less predictable character.

I encountered some bugs:

- The mountains (north of town) are referred to as hotspot2.
- There are several typo's.

- When being harassed by the mage in the dark forest, you die. The game shows an hourglass and the restore/restart window but no buttons can be clicked.

Thanks for the bugs Leon, I updated the download link to a new verison.

Fixed a few hotspot names, did a spelling/grammer check on all text (still not perfect..).
Fixed an animation loop that greyed out the restart/load box on death.
Fixed the dragon den from closing and locking after it was opened successfully.

SMF spam blocked by CleanTalk
