AGS Footballer

Hey tzachs, great that youÂ´re doing a football game. By now itÂ´s quite fun for a tech demo. Just one thing: I think the game would have a more natural ... vintage feeling in low-res .... but this may also be because most of the sports games I played were on the NES (btw: IÂ´d demand fouls like in Nintendo World Cup).

Thanks doc, I will probably disappoint you though, since I'm not gonna go low-res with this...
Also I won't go with Nintendo World Cup fouls. I wanted to meet the middle grounds between an arcade and a simulator, making these kind of fouls will push it too much towards the arcade, not the direction I want to take this game to...

Shurely true ... I remember winning games back then with me being the only player on the field and the rest lying around.
And for the resolution thing ... IÂ´ll certainly play this even if itÂ´s in high-res.

Humpetty Bump!

Hey, TZ, I just wanted to let you know I've finally played the tech demo and I am AMAZED at the work you've done already! It is really fun. Great job on the controls and programming the ball so it flies into the air and bounces and does all kinds of cool stuff. I can't wait to see the ball rolling!

Also, will you implement an option to WATCH a game? I selected Footballer and I didn't have to do anything but protect the goal, which was pretty fun, but having an option to watch a game pan out on it's own would be awesome, especially if you get to choose who is on what team.

Great job, man, this is going to be quite the game when it gets finished - I can't wait for it

Also, I can't reemember who mentioned it, but having online support to play other AGSers for real would be "the balls"!

Already implemented! Go to "Set Players" and move P1 to the middle (under no team). Start the game and watch away!
To be honest, I didn't test this feature too much, but it should work...

Wonky, I read through again and I believe it was Wyz that I was refering to. It was when he said multiplayer that I took it as online play.

And that's when the crowd roars and it is randomized whether or not some crazed fans rush onto the field moments before C.Leks swoops down from the sky and snatches them away.

Ha, cool. I had seen that when I first played but after a while forgotten about it. Pretty fun to watch! It would make a great screensaver as well.

I've got an error for you that happened during two of the games I watched.
It is the same error messege that happened when the ball was kicked at a high speed, also very high in the air, and flew off the screen:

Error: GUI.X: co-ordinates specified are out of range.

Finally played the demo. KILLER AWESOME. It feels just like playing the real game, except I never need to stop for breath and lemonade! Also this crazy kid called discordance is always grabbing the ball and running off on these crazy breakaways and then not noticing that he lost it twenty steps back. Just like in real life.
