Eyebrows, or the lack thereof.

Well, last night it was my friend's mother's 50th birthday, and needless to say I ended up drinking a bit too much... So there I am, passed out on the couch minding my own business when a few mates decided it would be hilarious to shave all my eyebrows off... Haha I look like one of those observers from Fringe now!

Anyone else had anything similar happen to them? Or have any idea on how long they take to grow back?

I'm currently sporting pencilled in 'brows... o_O

Don't worry, they ought to grow back in a few weeks. Girls trim and pick them daily. The best part though is when they star growing and you have a stubble on your forehead.

Ok, 2 things:
- they should have shaved off half of each eyebrow or similar, any variation that you are forced to shave yourself off some part to keep it even or similar
- friend's mother's 50th birthday, and needless to say you got drunk? what kind of a woman is this 50 year old friends mother?!

I did eyebrow shaving for halloween and they're almost back to normal now.

So that's like... a month?

It depends.

Having one's eyebrows shaved is actually an EXTREMELY offending act here, according to tradition, at least. People care less about this nowadays though. Still, people wouldn't laugh at a person having his head shaved but definitely would if it's his eyebrows.

If it came down to a choice I'd still rather have my eyebrows shaved than my head. It may look freaky and somewhat alien-like, but it grows back quicker than my head hair does.
At least they didn't shave a reverse mowhawk into my hair with clippers or something!

I stood next to a fire, there was a gust of wind and before I knew it my eyebrows and bit of my beard were gone. It was a long time ago so I don't remember how long it took for them to grow back, I suppose they grow at the same rate as other facial hair, so in two weeks you should be fine.

I dont remember where I heard this or if it's true (I suspect not) but i heard its possible that eyebrows will sometimes never grow back if shaved off or take a long time.

Eye brows arent like other facial hair since they dont keep getting longer..

but i dont really know what i'm talking about.

I'd say that's clearly a myth; growth is regulated by genes and shaving just removes a part of the hair that's dead. Cutting any type of hair will never affect the growth speed or density. It's amazing how many people believe otherwise though and keep doing it even if you explain why it's wrong.

So how often you guys cut your eyebrows short because they've grown too long? That might be telling as far as the growing back speed is concerned.

Even if my eyebrows did get that long, why would I cut them back to lameness?

Although, I don't think the length of your eyebrows has anything to do with how fast they grow, as the roots die off pretty quick.

I don't think it's likely that they won't grow back. Let's just hope it grows back fast. I'm developing a bit of brow stubble already
