technical problem: the "Run" button doesn't work.

hi there! I'm Siddone, a new user! I'm trying to follow the tutorial, but when i use the button "Run" or "run without debug" something strange and horrible appears on my screen: a blur of floating color, psychotic lines screaming on the screen, with the character hopelessly lost in time, space and meaning, unable to move, maybe paralyzed by terror. the same dazzling phaenomenon occurs when I try to launch the demo, and all the games downloaded by the web site of AGS.
i tried to stop the firewall (norton "Sonar") but there were little advance. what can I do?

Try updating DirectX and Graphics drivers.
What OS are you running? Gfx card?
