Hello AGS!

Well I'm applying for my first job (nothing special, just a little summer job), but having never held a job before I have no idea how to create a CV. The job is for a "Customer Service Assistant" at the local Woolworths store.

Does anyone have any tips on how I should structure my CV/what all to include in it?

Thanks in advance!

http://www.examplesof.com/cv/retail_sales_assistant.html seems a nice and boring place to start.

I've been throught the "skim-some-cv" duty: try to keep it short and to the point!

You could also open a LinkedIn account, fill out some stuff about yourself and your skills, and then let the LinkinInLabs Resume Builder do the work for you. :)

You still have Woolworths :O

Chicky wants.

You should write a cover letter explaining why you would make the best customer service assistant ever. Then put all your experience, qualifications, references etc in the CV.

After your CV is done, whatever it is like, READ IT YOURSELF, find errors and fix them thoroughly.
After that, ask your girlfriend/boyfriend/pet monkey to read it and give feedback and point out typo's, fix them thoroughly.
AFTER THAT: ask you mother/father/distant cousin/alien abductor to read the damn thing and make damn well sure there are no typo's in it!

One typo in your CV, if noticed, can sometimes be the difference of getting a job / interview / anal probe.

Hope this helps.  :)

Don't forget to get lots of top notch references from AGSers!

And don't mention Stickmen in the Land of Terrorists.

I actually have Alien Time Zone mentioned on my CV :D.
Then again, I also have "Dog Breeding" listed under Work Experience...
