Thanx for all the effort and time you've put in to this, CW (and team)!!

Adeel

Much has been said already before and I don't think I could've put it in any way better than that. All I want to say to you is: THANKS. Thanks for everything you did. Keep no remorse, be guilt-free.

Also, please don't ever leave the forums, take part in other threads and/or discussions. If you wish, try developing a game using your (and your friend's) latest update. Perhaps, that way you may feel relaxed.

I always used to dread about this day when you would stop developing AGS. But never in my mind, it occurred that I'll see this day very soon. :(

Crimson Wizard

Thank you for your responses... I will think about you all said...

Grim

You're a great man, Crimson Wizard.

I've been using the latest version for a while now and it's brilliant. You've done such a good job on that, man. Well done. I owe you one.

Snarky

In the midst of all the well-deserved praise for CW (who's clearly been the driving force on the last release), let's not forget the other contributors. Unless I'm mistaken, tzach in particular did a lot of the editor updates some of you have mentioned.

Khris

You did an awesome job, CW and you don't have to explain yourself. And seconding the others, don't leave the forums!

Dave Gilbert

If anyone deserves to take a break (permanent or not!) it is you. No worries, sir. We're not going anywhere. :) If you ever decide to contribute again, we'll be here.

Crosco

To hear this made me also sad.

I started to became more active in the forum before the 3.3.0 release.
In this short time I was impressed from your awesome work with AGS and helpfulness in the forum.

Great job!

That sounds like a good idea to me.

Thank you for your hard work! There is no need to be ashamed.
We all have our time machines, don't we?

CW - You've been amazing, and nothing but helpful and friendly to me whenever I had a question.  You took on a Herculean Task and did great things.  Thank you, sir. I appreciate everything you've done.

Well CW, you can step back with you head held high because you put a lot of effort in it and it shows! Thanks for that!

Now I'm not going to ramble about the future in this thread since I feel that is a bit disrespectful but let me tell you this: please do not stop having fun with AGS, making games, hanging around on the forums, joining competitions, being a friend; since I and I dare to say we as community do not think any less of you and respect your decision and still want you to be part of this community.
Get back to the roots of why you initially came here and what you were looking for and try to find it again; I hope you'll find it. :)

On behalf of Crystal Shard, we thank you for all your hard work on the 3.3 build, and would be sorry to see you go. I hope you'd at least stick around on the forums for the community?

This is sad to hear CW. You worked so hard on this and stepped up when only few others did. You will always be immortalized in AGS history. Do not feel bad for leaving. We totally get it. But know this... We all REALLY appreciate what you have done for this community. If this is a permanent leave, so be it. But hopefully you will make a return one day when you are ready. Thanks for everything.

It sounds like a massive undertaking so I can understand your feeling burnt out, however I too hope this isn't goodbye completely. Take some 'me' time to recharge your batteries and feel good about what you've achieved. As you can see, your efforts are greatly appreciated. I hope we'll still see you on the forums:)

In other words, bug-fixes will be once a year if one of the other devs feels like fixing something, and AGS 4 will be 10 years off.. nice.

This is a do-ocracy, so I you want more frequent updates, make them, but don't complain that other people are not doing them for free in their free time :-\

Crimson, I didn't write here yet, because I didn't find the right words. I fully understand that after such a huge milestone you feel somewhat burnt out. Please take a break from development and maybe even enjoy playing AGS games. But know for sure, that your effort were not futile. You did a fantastic job as a development lead (a position you didn't even ask for, I guess it just happened) and there is no need to feel bad about it. Actually, I was impressed how well you even managed the different branches and feature request.

AGS is not just an engine that, admittedly, might not be state of the art anymore, but also a community. So I hope that you will still stick around and maybe, in a few month or so, you can look at this thead with a smile because everything just turned out much better than it seemed back then.

Thanks for all, cat

I know I've posted just a few (probably annoying.) questions and comments on this forum since I quite recently learned about ags but I have big appreciation for people like you CW. There are not many people who give so much without asking for anything and if all the people were more like you this world would be a radically different place. Thanks for all the work you've done. It seems like you're one of few who kept this steamboat afloat, if you ever decide to come back and maybe help create a newer version that would rekindle my hopes.

Its now first time I've heard about ags having some serious faults.. As of now I'm not aware of any advantageous alternatives to ags. I'm wondering if it was possible to establish some working model based on donations that would motivate and reward people for accomplishments on new versions of ags.
How much wood would a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood?

With my awesome moderator powers, I decree that discussion about ditching AGS and starting over from scratch shall be its own separate thread. MWUAHAHAHA!
