this is my first attempt at making a room drawing.  the perspective is clearly meant to be a little goofy.  the only thing i would really change is the distance between the window and the wall, but other than that i was pretty happy with it.  i wasnt sure how to get the perspective on the window light on the floor though, any help would be appreciated.

also, i was wondering if i should retrace this as a bitmap to make solid outlines or to leave them anti-aliased the way they are imported into the the game.  the antialiasing gives it a nicer, handdrawn look, but the bold outlines might make it easier to blend character artwork with the background without it looking too awkward.

Why is the door casting a shadow?  There is no light source except what comes through the window, but that couldn't possibly illuminate the area around the door since the wall is in the way.  Other than that, looks pretty good.  As I think you mentioned you may want to make the lower left corner of the window a bit farther from the wall, as it looks slightly awkward at the moment.

Good job!

heh, honestly i just added the shadow around the door because it looked too *flat* without it and went for the cheap cop-out to add depth.  well, my official excuse is that the light coming though the cracks around the door creates the door shaped shadow.  but i guess thats just me covering my own ass.
