I think this is the right place to ask... I'm having difficulty making my Sprite Animation look NOT awkward... I have the basics there but somehow it looks like he's LIMPING or something. I was wondering if somebody could supply me with Guybrush Sprites to study (Or characters from another P+C Adventure from that time) because I can't find them ANYWHERE. I really need to rip off somebodies sprites study those sprites!

You Suckers!!!! :) Love to all.  ;D ;D ;D

i've actually found monkey island sprites hard to find (but then i'm using google image search because i'm too lazy to search through sites) but, you could take a look at that http://ron.the-underdogs.org there is a character resource pack there, you could load the .CHA files into AGS, export the frames and stuidy them, or even make your own RON game, there's also a walk animation tutorial at http://www.sylpher.com/kafka i think...
hope that's helped you a little bit...

btw, do you know your site doesn't work?

I LOVE YOU!!!!

Yeah that's Yufster.com right? I registered it, made an Excellent Doublefine Fansite, and then didn't reregister it because of lack of funding. Besides, trying to get information from Tim Schafer is like feeding Coffee-and-Sugar-Syrup to a maniac hyperactive child. Have you ever emailed him? He was all like, "Thanks, you now I'm going to lose my job, thanks a lot. You only care for yourself, Illiad Rusalka!"

That's not even my name  ???

Email him, it's fun! :)

are you on dialup or cable?

I have a bunch of Sierra sprites and some Indy sprites that you can download. If it is too big let me know and I will break it down.

Download it: HERE

I am working on a character and background dump and will have it up on my site some time this week.

Is there something I could rip the MI ones with? I dont think you can do it using ... wassitcalled.... Scumm Revisited. I'm working on taking painstaking screenshots and putting them in order at the moment, so if I finish a guybrush one I'll send you that for the file dump.

Interestingly, I think Guybrush only has 5 frames of walking L/R. :) Not including his standing stance, as that's not included in the animation.

BOYD1981

Scumm Revisited is just for viewing the files i think, you'd need another programme to rip them, the name of which escapes me, i don't have it on this pc and my other pc is knackered, but i'm sure somebody that'll end up reading this post will have it, if i could get to it i'd send it to you

WooHoo!!

There are some Indy sprites there that might help you.

That program is called Costume Viewer/Ripper or something like that. For the most part it sucks. Hard to get it to run and sometimes outputs crap images. Worth trying though. If anyone else wants to contribute, please, please DO!! I need LucasArts sprites the most. There are plenty of Sierra tools that work really well out there...not so with Lucas stuff.

EDIT: AND! While I'm at it. If anyone has EVERY tool that exists for LucasArts games could you please send them to me. I want to host them and I encourage other to do the same. Since mixnmojo is down you can't find them ANYWHERE. That's pretty silly to have only one server for all of those tools.

Yay, I found Costume Ripper:

I love you more than words alone can express. Can I stab you, or hug you or something?

EDIT: Uhhmmm, how does it work?

juncmodule

It's DOS based. I pretty sure the syntax works something like...

Code: ags

costrip.exe monkey1.001

just copy and paste your .001, .002, etc files into the costrip directory. You can create a .bat file with notepad if you want and just change the name of the resource you are accessing.

Just in case if you have no clue what I'm talking about (sad, sad, death of DOS...) Just open up notepad and paste the code from above and save it as "monkey.bat" in the directory that everything else is in. Then run monkey.bat and have a blast. I know what I'm talking about and I don't think that made any sense... :P

I perfer my hugs before my stabbings. Thanks!

Good luck,

Here's a lovely gathering of information including about six hacking programs (including something to rip sprites from Full Throttle and CMI) and info on how to use :)

YOU BASTARD. Jesus. There IS no privacy on the internet any more!

What was I gonna say? Oh yeah. Now my childhood crush can be fulfilled.... I can watch Guybrushes pants fall down again and again and again...

....Speaking of which.... Guybrush walks like an ass.

BOYD1981

i think he walks more like there's something up it...

What's with all the HAND FLOURISHES?  ???

juncmodule

Did you get any of the fuzzy images when you extracted? I ALWAYS do. It's really annoying.

Or did you just screen capture each frame?

By the way, those look really great!
