I've been working on this all day. I really have no clue what the game is going to be about. I drew the character a few weeks ago and decided to give him a mate and a town. This is the "residential" area. Next I will work on the "downtown" area. You can switch between the two characters on the screen (like in DOTT). The GUI is mostly a modified FOA, it turns pink when you select the girl.

Any story ideas or suggestions are welcome. The characters are named Jack and Jill and everone else in the town bounces...meaning they have no legs but wobble/bounce around. Jack and Jill are supposed to be the abnormal-hero-kids...or something....

Great background and graphics style.  GUI looks nice (although I do hate the LucasArts GUIs  :P)

Can't wait for this game.  Very unique and fun looking.  Actually, it looks almost like an old platform game.  Very neat.

I like the background ...

I love the little sprites/characters.  They have ... 'personality'.

The only thing I would suggest is to add some type of shading to the sky.  Like maybe some crooked looking clouds or a slightly different color blue streaking back and forth.

I agree with undergroundling ... I like the GUI look, though I never really did like the LucasArts GUIs either.  But the button look is always awesome and I like using it a lot.

Will the background scoll or jump from one to the other?

This is my first use of the LucasArts GUI. I'm more of a Sierra man myself so, it is a bit different for me.

yeah, the sky is kind of dead...I will fix that.

The background scrolls. There are 7 houses total. The town will be a little longer...about 11 buildings.

thanks!

anyways, I like the bg, although it looks more like a platform game then an adventure game.... but that will change when playing it ofcourse ;)

I don't know why but the bg reminds me of snes game- the smurfs :P

Hey, I like the GUI and old lucasarts guis.

I love the boxes you did for switching chars.  I like how their pic is well then off center.

Perhaps more people would like the gui better if the color  instances of green and red were less harsh?   :)
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

Actually, I think those bright, "harsh" colors really fit in with the rest of the artistic style.  Although they are rather harsh, I think they work well in the context of these graphics.  They give the GUI a little more character.

Looks fun! Bright colors fits very well and it's well drawn also!
