I was wondering this, because I'm making my game Sam&Moos... and one room got over 15 objects already... and there gonna be something like 20 rooms... how much objects, does your game have?

Well in the games I've had there are probably an average of 3 or 4 per room.. more if I need a lot of animation.

As far as I'm aware you can only have 15 objects maximum in a room unless one of the latest beta versions increased it (and I looked in the changes and couldn't find it) so I don't know how you got more than 15 to start with.

Apparently lots of objects slows the game down, but I've never noticed it, it must be slow computers, which some people here use, but not the general population of game players.

but it depends on what you are using the objects for, I have an intro in my game with lots of animations, which would need approx 30 objects, maybe more, and it is not possible to do with animated background frames.

I may be able to get around it with changeing a few object sprites in the script and use characters to make up the extra objects.

but generally I don't use many objects, maybe 2 or 3 in evry second or third room, but occasionally as mentioned above, I need more than is AGS legal.

Remember that objects are required only if they need to move...having more than 15 per room borders to being plain messy

Minimi, just a friendly reminder... anything that is AGS- or adventure game-related and is not a technical question, should go in the AGS Chit Chat Forum, just to help keep the Gen Forum less clogged up with random threads. :) It's hard enough to sift through it as it is. :P
