Hi,

I have atempted to load a new room (room2) into the room editor by changing the bg of room1 and saving it under a new name - room2 (It could be the reason to my problem).
Now the Character starts in the same room (room2) even though in the "character" menu I wrote "start in room: 1" (x and y too).
Also when I run debugging mode room 1 and 2 are the same (I tried to add room 3 but same result).
In the room editor it recognizes the rooms as it should be. ??? ???
Is there a way to fix this problem or am I facing "Start again" verdict :(

great googley moogley ! - you may want to um make that a bit more clearer.

Okay,  I'll try to be simpler.

I had a room named "room1", after filling it with hotspots, areas, region and other stuff, I wanted to create another room - "room2".

I don't know if the way I loaded it caused the problem but I'll mention it anyway.

I went to the room editor where I had "room1" displayed and I loaded the bg to "room2" and saved the bg under the name "room2", it was like opening a older document changing details and save it under a different name.

In "room1" I defined a hotspot as a teleporter to "room2".
From that moment when I tried to test the game, the character appeared in "room2" and not "room1" as it did before.
In the character menu, I wrote '1' under the option "start in room:", and even added X Y coordination.

I tried to remove the file room2 from the folder but then the game couldn't find it,and didn't start, then I tried to use to copies of "room1" (and the other I named "room2") - didn't work also.

In short, I have 2 rooms, room editor recognizes them and when I open them I see the right bg and the correct hotspost areas etc.
When I test the game, the character is in "room2", when I try to teleport it via hotspots or debugging mode and 'Ctrl X' it arrives to "room2" (even when order to "room1").
It's as if something in the programis rewriting it for some reason.  :-\

Phew, I hope it is clearer.

Your best bet would be to copy the script from room1 from the editor and save it as a text file eg. rom1.txt (in note pad, [copy and paste])

do the same for room2.txt, then start a new game from scratch and paste from the text files the scripts to the necessarry places (ie hot spots regions etc.)

the only thing I can think of is that you accidently saved the game with room 2 being the same as room1 and it just seems confusing from then on.

trust me it's not hard to start over from scratch, you are not very far into the game, just use it as a learning experience and I'm sure you will figure it all out, even if I didn't help you at all, you need little set backs to help you see how it all fits together.

Good luck, and don't give up.

Thanks for the moral support <sniff, sniff>, I sure need it.
Well, I kinda figured it out that the drawing board was the only way out, but I needed someone to tell me that, before I'll start all over.

Thanks again. \\//
