Good day!

This is my first background. What do you think 'bout it?
I think that I have some troubles with lights & shadows...

Thank you!

Wow, looks pretty good.

- I'd say change the font on 'SEH'. It's too generic.
- The shadow on the right, originating from the lamp on the left, seems wrong. It's straight right now, yet the right side should be more to the back along the wall. I hop that made sense. Maybe someone else can explain it better.

That is FANTASTIC, man!

I think the black outlines works just fine.
The colors you used are amazing, and fun to look at.
The shading is very accurate and clean.

2 problems, though: the carpets are off perspective (especially the right one), and the light bulb is HUGE.

BTW, what is SEH?

Oh, SEH is just "Some Else Here"...working title for my little quest...=) It's here 'cause I don't know what picture place here.

Then forget what I said. I agree with fidodido on the carpet. Your room uses two seperate single point perspectives. That's what's causing the problem.

I like the drawing, it has a great color scheme, and the couch looks sooo comfy!  I agree, though, that the perspective seems off.  Here is how I do my drawings...

This first example is lines drawn over your drawing to show the perspectives you were using.

In a realistic drawing the perspective lines should all point to...well...a point.  There are two room areas in your drawing, so it should have two perspective points.  This one shows how to improve the perspective...the thicker colored lines are other lines that would be changed, but I didn't bother changing them.

Of course this is just a suggested use of perspective, totally mathematical.  Your style of drawing is up to you. :)

Be careful of bad tangents. Example: It looks like the painting is hanging below the lamp instead of on the wall. If you put the painting a few pixels up or down you avoid the so called 'bad tangent'. Or you could move the lamp, of course.

The same goes for the oval shaped window on the left. Leave some pixels between the window and the bookcase.

Perspective issues aside, I think you really have a nice, clean style. I also like the colours you've used very much.

honest ly I would say dont listen to the perspective advice
the way it is now gives it a perfect cartoon look
unless thats not what you want

holmss

ok, thanks.
'bout perspective...I understood, but maybe in that case bg will not be so warm (I can't get another word fior this)?

It's bg with one of main character. Please C&C her.=)
It's about ingame screenshot...

i dunno something about her looks too straight

Love the character, but... To match the background you should give her some black contours. As it is now, she somewhat disappears because the background has those thick black lines while her details are very subtle.

But the style is great. I especially like the coat and the hair.

I agree. You could also adjust the background image to make it softer on the eye. Maybe replacing the black outlines in the background with softer tones?

And when you set the scaling properties of this character in AGS, I think the character should be a little taller at the location you currently put her. (Or maybe the couch is too big in the background)

Oh, almost forgot to say that I *really* like the character. Great artwork!
