Just a quick update: it seems like it will take a bit longer than expected for Neofeud to hit Steam, as their process of bringing games to Steam is not quite instant, and is even more involved in this new Steam Direct system.  If you'd like to play Neofeud, I therefore still recommend picking it up on Itch.io!

If you haven't picked up Neofeud yet, it's on sale just one more day!

Also, any adventure developers with games coming out or recently came out, especially commercial ones? Send me a message!

So the big news today is Neofeud is through Steam Direct, at last!

I'm now in the process of Steam-izing the game, adding achievements, etc..  Hoping to get this out on Steam and get you all your Steam keys, but can't quite set a release date at this time.  Stay tuned!

Again, that's fabulous news, fella.

I was a bit confused by your second comment. Who exactly is getting these Steam keys?

Oh, the people receiving the Steam keys for Neofeud are people who've bought Neofeud on Itch.io. If you buy it there, you get the DRM-free version plus the Steam version.

That makes a lot of sense, thinking about it.

I thought I'd mention that a friend of mine (the Drunken Monkey fella) listens to a podcast which gives a brief overview of recently released Steam games at the end. If Neofeud pops up in one of them, he'll send me the link to post on here, if anyone's interested.

Fitz has written a cracking review of Neofeud for my site, please give it a read!

Wow! I need to knight Fitz as an official Neofeudal Lord now. He has unlocked the Golden Mirrorshades achievement in Neofeud (write a mindblowing review of Neofeud - check!)

Seriously though, when you have a fan who really gets all the aspects of this thing you've slaved and toiled on (often in voluntary solitary confinement, as I did), it is the best feeling ever -- no amount of green grass, gold leaf cake, flying limousines or multi-billion-dollar orbital parties can match it. :)  So thank you, Fitz!  And thanks CaptainD for sharing!

My pleasure! I thoroughly enjoyed the game and indeed it resonated with me on so many levels.

Now, I wouldn't rush with the whole knighting thing ;) I'm so busy right now, slaving away on a super secret AGS-related project, that I had no sufficient brainpower left to play the Dysmaton demo yet -- which would be a capital offense for a officially knighted lord.

Hey AGSers!  If anyone would like to talk about one of their adventure games (a sci-fi / cyberpunk game would be cool, but not necessary!) and/or their art, gamedev process, etc. with Silver Spook in a podcast / video in the near future, please let me know! (post here or message, etc!)  I want to help spread the word about your game, AGS generally, and talk to some cool people (you are all super cool, so don't worry about that!)  I'm hoping to do this sometime this week, although the time is not nailed down.  Let me know!

Strong female characters in cyberpunk!

Deborah Dunaway plays literal royalty, as well as a trans-species kid, a Nazi bureaucrat, and more in Neofeud.

You can follow Deb here: https://twitter.com/bittersweetdb

I actually met Deb for the first time at a meetup with William Gibson in Kitsilano beach, Vancouver. We've been friends ever since, and apart from donating her vocal talents to the game, she's also backed Neofeud through patreon in the three-figure range. So thanks for that, Deb!

Some sample Steam Achievements for Neofeud I made with names such as, "Six Billion Dollar Baller" and "Sylvester Warzennegar". :)

Here's the livestream from today of me working on them:

That image you keep using really reminds me of the trance den exterior from Technobabylon. Is that intentional?

Re: Neofeud
I think it happened subconsciously, which makes sense, as I am a huge fan of Technobabylon.  It's one of my favorite point-n-click adventure games, along with Primordia.  There's a definite reference to Primordia in Neofeud in this scene:

Also, the achievements image is now fixed.
