Nice! I was reading the entrys today, and it's interesting to see all the things you must to affort to get into the gamemaking. Do you plan to share in details some parts of the development? I mean, animation process, concept art, programming examples, etc. I'm interesed to see (when the time's come) how do you keep everything organized (dialog trees, dependency charts, sprites, etc), which tools do you going to use to do that and how, your workflow.

Hi everyone! A few days ago I found the design document from the cancelled Indiana Jones and the Iron Phoenix. Aric Wilmunder close his page where he uploaded the documents and only I can see the files thanks too waybackmachine:        https://web.archive.org/web/20180226005830/http://wilmunder.com/Arics_World/Games.html

The thing is, one of the Iron Phoenix's documents (more precisely the "Room design2.compressed.pdf" (you can see the file's name if you put the mouse on the thumbnail of the document for a while)) doesn't work. I want to ask you if anyone have this file in their possession to share with me.

Thanks a lot!

Sensually yours,
Me.

Perhaps double check that you have necessary requirements, specifically VC redistributable which is needed for AGS.Native.dll:
https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/ags/

Oh, I just download de VC redistributable and launched it. That seems to be already installed, so I press in "fix" button. The problem has been solved so far!
I will be testing it and if will be any problem, I'll let you know.

Thanks so much, Wizard!

If you've just downloaded and extracted the zip file version then likely Windows has flagged everything in the zip file as coming from the Internet, and default .NET restrictions will stop the dll files from being used.

Hi! Crimson Wizard has already help me with the problem. Thanks for your help too (P.S. I was usign de installer instead the .ZIP file)

QuoteWhat was the last version of AGS you were using before this one?

I don't know, 'cuase I was installed AGS in this particular PC but I never used (it's a notebook, my main PC is a desktop one). I could say was one of the 3.5 versions, but Idk which patch.

QuoteDid you download installer or zip archive?

The installer.

QuoteHave you installed it in a new folder or over an existing AGS installation?

I had the same doubt (sorry, I am a bit silly), so I uninstalled the editor, deleted the folder, and installed in a new one again. And then I wrote to you.

QuoteDo you actually have AGS.Native.dll in the editor's folder?

Yes, there is that file in the editor's folder.

Hi everyone! I download the AGS 3.5.0.31 P9 version a few days ago, and installed it. When I try to launch the editor, I get the next message (sorry for not put a preview, I don't know why this url doesn't show it):

https://ibb.co/VTRxmnN

The spanish text says "Cannot load the file or assembly 'AGS.Native.dll' or one of its dependencies. Cannot find the specified module"

I can't use the editor when I press "Aceptar", and I haven't any idea of what all of that means.

I am using Windows 7 32 bits, 4gb ram, an intel i3, and that is all I know about computing.

Wow, thanks a LOT for the answer. I didn't knew about game design document of old adventure games. I was searching and found some GDD from Lucas Arts.
About your planning, was really interesting some particulars points, like the simplification of the game for less effort and that. Thank you again, dude!

I grown playing single-player games. My brothers was never interested to play with me, and for that reason, the ps2 give a really strong feeling of loneliness. In my 16, I was playing Silent Hill 2 in the port version for PC (I finished the game). After three or four years I want to play it in ps2, so I get a copy (we won't talk about this part... ehem), and start to play. For a few days I was feeling a bit depressed, and I don't understad why, I am talking about 1 or 2 weeks with that feeling. And one night I realized Silent Hill 2 was depressing me. The game itself got an atmosphere really sad, melancholic, and depress, but that, plus my experience playing always alone my ps2, give me that horrible feeling. After that I decided to left the game inmediatly.

Hi, everyone! sorry if this was asked before, I could't find it in the forum. Anyway, I want to know how do you plan a game; how do you write the story and the puzzles (do you put everything in a single document?); how do you plan the rooms; how good practices could you say to make a game design's document.

Cheers!
