Hey, your portrait looks so much better than that one from Amazon Queen. it's obivous who is the better artist.

I have to say, this game is setting up well, most likely the best game of 2007? We'll have to see, but I'd bet on it, don't think anything will come close. Not that it's a competition. But it shows what professionals (right?) can do with AGS.

I am also glad you are doing the music nikolas, any game you work on should automatically get music award, so I'm glad you are working on your first ags game music wise! And that track is pretty darn nice with sofia. You are almost making it unfair for the other musicians.

On a scripting side, those plug-ins sound sublime lemmy. Your work will surely not go unappreciated, I'm sure a lot agsers would benefit from the graphics and plug-ins.

The animation is brilliant, if you don't win the animation award it'll be weirdly odd.

Actually, Dave also suffered a going-commercial backlash from The Shivah, and 2 people did nominate it for the PeeThreeEnOneEss

There will always be people ready and willing to tell you that your work is crap, and beleive me, I've become well-accustomed to it over the last 7 years. This doesn't bother me in the slightest. I prefer to focus on the simplicity of just making games.

No. If so many people have told you this then maybe it's time you considered the possibility and stop being arrogant/dillusional, cause people claiming they are amazing and ain't gets into these kinda trouble when they produce something.

Also there is a huge difference between remaking a game and making one, since you didn't have the design experience, the other commercial people have made some original freeware games and it shows. Hopefully you will learn from all of this and grow.

That is wrong progzmax. Nominating Reactor 9 for short game and The Shivah for best game, as far as I remember Reactor 9 is a bigger game than Shivah and they both are medium length. I think bernie deserves to be considered for best game, not best short.

However:
El Drey: Your image is colour reduced as is suggested by the noisy dithering and the random grey/green pixels, the closeness of some of the colours . Maybe you could show how your bigger original looked or your reference?

Just feuling this even more. I'm not an out and out christian, the only reason I most likely have a belief in GOD is because it was drilled into me from tender age by my parents forcing me to church every sunday. So I'm not really on a side here.

And I also think debating about religion on the internet is stupid, since most 'smart-mouths' here do not have any knowledge of what they speak. They simply rip christianity and god without knowing what it is, as the thread prooves over 20 pages. That is how christianity has been dealt with over the centuries by non-believers and those that lacks knowledge of what is it. As you all are extremely confused and really knows nothing. I myself do not know enough and am definitely not knowlegdable person on the subject, hence I will not give an opinion. The best any of you can do is go and talk to a priest, or at least someone that has the knowledge and passion to explain it. Not debate with other internet geeks.

It is aparrently based on a true story. (I've done no research on this, just thought it went with the thread).

I think these are all overthinking the bg blitz and overcomplicating voting. Less people will vote. A simpler approach is better like the one that exists (you made ). Just keep the four categories, the previous blitz showed that pixel and high-res could compete against each other, the voting was fair and fun by everyone, no need to change anything. Sometimes extra rules like idlu had could make blitzes more fun, but definitely not a must, optional by the hoster

You mention the team that brought the shivah. Does that mean ProgZmax is working on this? I remember big brother is doing the sprites? (which is looking awesome). Could you maybe list the team in your first post? (since the graphics are by far the most work in an AGS adventure) Who did the cover art also?

Anyways, it looks great, the cover art is amazing! The portraits and sprites too.

Slightly off-topic but slightly on-subject - is there any way to skip dialog/speech lines on Simon 1? I can't click 'em away or press-a-keyboard-key-'em away, and it really put me off the game when I can't even experiment without having to listen to the same responses again and again.

I'd like to know that too. After a while the voices get to me. But I really enjoy it. I don't know what to expect of 4, the graphics sure looks great.

Helm made gladiator quest (you can get it www.adventuregamers.com), the graphics are very impressive in oldskool style.

I was more referring to the anatomy, some of the sprites are a little all over the place, but in a cartoony game I doubt anyone will notice. I think the shading is consistent, don't worry about that. And this isn't the critics lounge so ignore all of this
