Holy shit, didn't see this announcement coming! Can't describe how incredibly excited I am for this.

You did such a good job with the Kathy Rain remaster/remake, essentially fixing all the small issues I had with the original version, so I can't wait to get back into the same world with a new story. Wishlisting and feeling the hype!

(Ser så sjukt bra ut, hörni! :) )

Wow, this looks great - love me some folk horror, looking forward to the final game!

Hm, I think it was Night if the Hermit by Roy Lazarovich, sometime in the early 2000's. I remember looking for games similar to Monkey island online and then stumbling upon NOTH and  subsequently discovering the AGS community shortly afterwards.

This really looks right up my alley,
love the graphics and the setting!  Definitely wishlisting this on Steam.

Oh no, that's genuinely heartbreaking. I never read his writings outside of the forums, but Larry Vales 1 and 2 were some of the first AGS games I ever played, and definitely a huge reason for trying out AGS and coming to the forums back in the days. R.I.P, Phil.  :=

Really sad to hear this is the final episode! Discovered and listened to all the old episodes from the start during a personal rough spot last year, and it was both an inspiration and a really great comfort to hear you chat about the ags community/game design/everything else. You will be missed!

Damn, this looks so good! Congratulations on the release, I'm putting it on my Steam wishlist now!

Ok, I'm guessing there probably won't be any more votes despite the extended deadline, so unless anyone has any last minute objections I will be giving the victory and the honor of choosing the next topic to stylez75!

Hey guys, seeing that we only have one single vote so far, I'll extend the voting deadline a couple of more days, until the 28th of january!
And since I didn't really specify the voting method, as Sinitrena rightly pointed out (sorry about that), I'll just go with the simplest solution: you may only give one point, to your favorite entry, and the entry with the most points at the end of the deadline wins. (You may of course comment on or give out honorary mentions to the other entries, though!)

Ok, time to vote! Here are all the entries:

I would argue that while the rules allowed you to draw outside of the outlines as long as they are recognizable, Pajama Sams first entry seems to change the outlines a bit too much, so I will go with their second entry. Stylez75 and Deadsuperhero were similarly outlandish, but I would say they adhered more to the original outline, so I'll allow them.

Voting is open until the end of january 23!

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to the Coloring Ball, the competition where we give you shapes and you fill them in.

With Christmas just around the corner, let's continue with the festive theme for a bit longer and go with a holiday classic: the dreaded unwanted christmas present.
Yes, you've just opened that parcel you've been eyeing under the christmas tree for weeks, only to discover it's not that big box copy of "Phantasmagoria 2: A Puzzle of Flesh" that you were hoping for after all, but something quite different. It's...

Hm, yeah, what is that unwanted christmas present exactly?

Fill out the shape with your own idea and interpretation of the shape.
You may rotate the shape, you may color the outline and either the inside or the outside of the shape.
The weirder and crazier, the better!

The deadline for entries is January the 15th, 2022. Good luck everyone!

Oh wow, thanks for the votes, guys! I'll try to start a new round asap some time tomorrow!

Yikes, the first coloring ball I've participated in for what, ten-fifteen years? Surreal. Oh well, I'm having some downtime at work, so here's a sinister little thing I threw together while waiting for the servers to start working again... (Hey, someone had to do the Baphomet head)

I missed out on the original, but I'm really liking the monochrome look, and the detective gameplay sounds great! Definitely going on my "to-play"-list.

Sadly, no! I missed out on a lot that happened on the forums after 2010-ish, to be honest, so I just discovered and started listening to the Blue Cup Tool podcast like a month ago...  := I'm in the middle of binge-listening and catching up with it right now!

Hey all! A bit of a blast from the past here, but while going through some old folders on my computer I found what I think are most of the old AGS Shows made by m0ds, Grundislav, etc, back in the early 2000's (Episode 00 to 13) as well as some of the AGS Operas and other miscellaneous little audio things from ye olden day of the community, including some AGS podcasts, AGS debates, AGS Idol and more.

I tried to search around the forums to see if these are still available to download somewhere, but couldn't find any links that worked, so I thought I'd just put them in a shared google folder for anyone to download if they're interested. I'm not sure how many of the old school members are active here anymore and remember these, but I thought it might be nice to save these silly nuggets of AGS community history for posterity anyway.  :)

Relistening to these is a wild time machine into the early 00's forum, though, so beware: not every in-joke has aged with grace...

(Also pleasantly surprised to see a swedish translation - det är man inte bortskämd med! := )

Thanks so much Rincewind! There have already been several people who have pointed out the Flight of the Amazon Queen vibe.
I'm willing to accept any favorable comparisons haha, but I think the tone of FOTAQ is much more delusional to what I'm aiming for!
But yeah! I guess the pulp nature of the stories can take us down similar paths!

Haha, yeah, it was mainly the pulpy feel and the lo-res graphics that made me think of it. I have no doubt it will be a quite different beast from FotAQ in the end! :) Good luck with it!
