Zenwalk 1.3 alpha ISO has just been sent to testers. This snapshot will be tested over 15 days, and will be followed by a beta release, before it is declared stable.

Main enhancements are: kernel 2.6.13-mm3; a large number of software updates (see current changelog ); new Xfce filemanager with Desktop icons and new artwork (see the screenshot); new graphical configuration tools (videoconfig, localeconfig, netpkg-menu) with GTK frontends; and improvements in the installer - new "post-install" stage to autodetect the video card and configure system language locale.

People wanting to test the snapshot can send an email to the development team that will gladly send back the download URL. More reading: recent reviews are available here at Distrowatch, and forums at Slackplanet.org.

:) It really is a nice distro for advanced users and newbies, more info from www.zenwalk.org

 :) i think this is great what i made: the effect with the smudging was accidental at first - but then i thought it looked awesome
tell me what you think  :)
at the moment the only problem i see is the bottom right is a bit buggered up

(don't want to spend too much time on it editing though!!)

::)
i made a new thread because this one doesn't really fit with the other.

I'm asking whether it's possible to make the baseline go diagonal! :o This would be highly helpful because I'm using isometric backrounds etc.
it is possible without it diagonal but that would require quite a few more walkbehinds, and i'm running out of them.

:P thanks in advance

edit: YAY! my avatar is not streched any more!

 ::) yeah i know i must be getting boring just popping up in these forums mostly to suggest something.  ::)

Would it be possible for a zoom-out in the room editor area, so you can make sure you have all the walkable areas all done in a big map.

::)once again.. sorry if this has already been suggested ::)

Advanced Technical Forum / A thought for AGS?
Mon 12/04/2004 21:04:04
i was thinking maybe having a "room drawing thing" where you can import tiles and just draw it with them? this would be a fantastic feature for AGS.

unless someone can tell me of any software which can do this and just save it as a picture for ags to import?

ps. i didn't know where to post this so i put it here
#13
this is for my games sake... all data was lost in a powercut and all i have is a compiled version! PLEASE GOD, i mean CJ! somehow make it able!
#14
a "guihideobject" , this would be very useful and would save me from making an identical GUI with a few less buttons.

ags is the best game maker ever, i hope this is a good suggestion to help it get even more better!

how can i get the characters location (x and y) into 2 variables?

Advanced Technical Forum / 2 player?
Sat 13/12/2003 18:28:26
I was thinking maybe if it was possible to make it 2 player, one ego controlled by the mouse, the other with the keys?

maybe even player 2 just walking around, while player 1 does all the actual stuff? just for a bit of fun?

plz reply if it would/wouldn't work

Advanced Technical Forum / dialog problems
Tue 09/12/2003 22:20:34
this is what i have:

// dialog script file
@S  // dialog startup entry point
ego: "Good day"
Gro: "Welcome to the inner-islands, ferry Mr. Twinsen!"
Gro: "would you like to board the ferry?"
@1  // option 1
gro: "ok"
gro: "you may board the ferry"
stop
@2  // option 2
GRO: "Goodbye"
stop

Can someone tell me why it wont actually give the player the option to pick!? both options are ticked as 'Show:' and 'Say:'

Why cant dialog's script just be the same as normal ags script?
#19
Is it possible to make a movie and then import it into ags as a cutscene?
#20
WHY WONT IT WORK????  :'(
