Yep, I can handle .ZIP files all right, but it's not working without the use of the SCUMM engine. I am not downloading that! But anyway, the file I downloaded had SCUMM already in it.
how else were you expecting to run it?

I don't know actually, I just can't open .EXE files.
You can, otherwise you wouldn't be in windows right now.

To download and run EXE files, you'll have to press 'Save to disc' first, and then open it after it's downloaded.

. Take a computer class, you obviously have no idea what you're doing.
He's right, Norton is rubbish and takes up far more resources than nessasary, and restricts far too much things.

Please, for using the TCP/IP plugin try looking at my game

I know the game isn't brilliant and stuff but atleast the multiplayer worked  :)

Good luck with any multiplayer games

My least favourite was in Indy 4': FoA, (in one of the paths) where you had to find the stone (don't wemember wich stone) from the streets of Monte Carlo. You had to remember twoFrench street names, in the corner of these streets was the stone.

See, if we're talking Fate of Atlantis, my least favorite was fumbling about in the dark trying to find/remember various hotspots trying to get a generator working to turn on the lights. The only thing that saved this from being a game-breaker was the LucasArts system that displayed the name of the hotspot your mouse was over, so at least you weren't just clicking on a black screen.

Still obnoxious, tho.

that room wasnt pitch black! i could see the generator quite clearly. just turn your brightness up next time you play  :P

my plugin problem is different -- AGS linux engine doesn't support ANY...

I had a little play in Windows, I was just hinting for a next game to try and prevent the use of plugins  ;) dunno about modules? what's a module?!  ???
#8
:'( it uses loads of plugins...

if you make another game (atlantis maybe) please don't use plugins, for the Linux users!

Zenwalk 1.3 alpha ISO has just been sent to testers. This snapshot will be tested over 15 days, and will be followed by a beta release, before it is declared stable.

Main enhancements are: kernel 2.6.13-mm3; a large number of software updates (see current changelog ); new Xfce filemanager with Desktop icons and new artwork (see the screenshot); new graphical configuration tools (videoconfig, localeconfig, netpkg-menu) with GTK frontends; and improvements in the installer - new "post-install" stage to autodetect the video card and configure system language locale.

People wanting to test the snapshot can send an email to the development team that will gladly send back the download URL. More reading: recent reviews are available here at Distrowatch, and forums at Slackplanet.org.

:) It really is a nice distro for advanced users and newbies, more info from www.zenwalk.org

tell me what you think  :)
at the moment the only problem i see is the bottom right is a bit buggered up

(don't want to spend too much time on it editing though!!)

Yeah, even though it's just one cloud which has been cropped and mirrored three times.  ;)

how did you know  :o

for the people who like the clouds, they WILL appear in another background  ;) just not this one

a gamepad and joystick are the same to the system (except the drivers and stuff...)

adding joystick to AGS would also add gamepad

just, if AGS does ever have joystick support - make your games have keyboard support too!!!

Actually, I did have an april fools thing planned for the site, but unfortunately it wasn't something I bothered backing up and then when my hard drive crashed last week it was lost.

I did think about some sort of post like last year's, but that one worked rather too well to the point where everyone would have been expecting it this year. So yes, AGS has passed fool-free for one year :P

Still, I hope you all had some good fooling one way or another. I did post my housemate an eviction notice, and take a hip flask into work and serrupticiously sip from it all morning, so can't claim to have missed April Fools completely  :)

::) too bad. i was up until 2am on the night. i noticed the date at 12:15, rushed here to see whether you had posted (imo, you should've posted something no one would believe but actually come true)

edit- like Gmail! and this year's *infinate+1* Gmail space

:o wine must've screwed up on their newer version, i tried a 2004 version included with my crossover office and AGS editor seems to run fine.

I run Debian/testing and the editor and even games work with WINE (20050310-1.1).

Edit:

I just haven't managed to get keyboard input working in games (in WINE that is).

Here is my WINE config file if you're interested.

hmm. how do you find out the version of wine you have? and where exactly do i put this config file (i'm not in linux at the moment so i can't try out stuff yet  :( i've downloaded your config file to my flash drive ready though  ;)

I think the world should just move it an hour forward every year, but not back again. that'd be interesting

after a few years wouldnt you be at school at pitch-black light!? imagine that!
