It was a hot day in September, too hot. When it's too hot, people commit fewer crimes, which is great for most people, but not me. I'm a detective. The leaves were falling from the trees, and I'd have to find a tree to live in myself if I didn't get a case soon. Then SHE walked in...

...or he, or they, or it, or whatever! Your mission is to create a film-noir character to enter the detective's office with a case to solve. A femme-fatale? A crime boss? A wounded street thug? An angry city official? A lost kitten? You decide! And to make it even more noir, entries should be in Black & White (that is, greyscale.) Don't forget to tell us why they want to hire the detective!

The contest will run until October 9, and then voting will continue until October 16. Happy Sleuthing!

<< Coloring Ball: Deep Sea Discovery

The ocean. Deep. Dark. Ominous. Who knows what creatures or marvels await us as these depths? Color the following shape into a wonder you find at the bottom of the sea.

- Color the outline
- Use animation

And as always, please, no coloring outside the outline.

Good luck, deep sea divers!

<< Coloring Ball: Misfit Toys >>

In the animated holiday classic "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer", Rudolph and friends visit the Island of Misfit Toys, a place where discarded toys gathered because they thought no child wanted them. A Charlie-in-the-Box (instead of a Jack-in-the-box), a train with square wheels, a water gun that squirts jelly, and others all found their way to this desolate isle. Happily, Rudolph helped them find good homes with children in the end!

In this coloring ball, I ask you to do the same. Color these outlines into toys, misfit or otherwise, so we may find deserving homes for them.

You may:
- Use any color palette
- Rotate the image 90, 180, 270 degrees or flip the image
- Use animation

The deadline is December 5, and after that voting will run until December 12.

Have fun!

<< Coloring Ball: IT'S IN THE CARDS >>

Ladies and Gentlemen, once again, it's time for the annual Double Fanucci Tournament! Yes, Double Fanucci, that excessive
card game of the Great Underground Empire, where anything can happen! The stadium has been sold out and the audience is getting
restless, so let's get started! For the uninitiated, here are the rules:

Players literally draw their cards based on the template above, and play them here on the field.
Examples include, but are not limited to:

- A real or imagined playing card (Ace of Spaces, 137 of Clubs, Queen of Dolphins...)
- A real or imagined card from another game (Magic: The Gathering, Uno, Pokemon, Settlers of Catan...)
- Something else (Baseball card, Credit card, ? ? ?)

The Rules are as follows:

You MAY:
- Color the outline
- Submit multiple entries *

You MAY NOT:
- Rotate the card.**
- Use animations. ***

*From "The Rules According to Doyle", Chapter 7, Section 32, Paragraph 554: "Play 'em if you got 'em!"
**Trying to hold some cards horizontally in your hand is awkward and could cause you to spill your hand all over the table like the Great "69,105 Pick-Up" disaster in 773 GUE.
***Sorry, but animated cards were ruled illegal by the Gambler's Union and the Order of Statisticians.

BONUS ROUND!

In addition to the front of the card, players may also optionally design a BACK for our deck of cards.

VOTING:
The Game will end on September 15, then voting will begin. Our Judges (i.e. You) will vote for their first, second, and third place
choices for the cards, but only ONE vote for their favorite back design. Voting will end on September 22, and our illustrious winners
will receive one of our FABULOUS prizes!

1st Place: The ostentacious Golden Ace of Diamonds
2nd Place: The sparkling Silver Two of Hearts
3rd Place: The stoic Bronze Trebled Fromp
Back Design Award: The Festive Jolly Joker

We're in for a wild ride, friends. It's going to be an action-packed game this year.
You may have paid for your entire seat, but you'll only need the legs!

The Game. Begins. NOW!

[Edited to add the Joker Trophy and change end date to Sept. 15]
