G'day!

Sydney, star of  Sydney Finds Employment and Sydney Treads the Catwalk , is being featured as a guest this weekend on Dumm Comics.

Dumm Comics is a collaboration of some of the funniest people working in television animation at the moment. They're dedicated to bringing "daily dumms for every ones." I'm really grateful to be asked to do a comic for them and I instinctively turned to Sydney. Hopefully this will mark a new series of Sydney comics and perhaps another game or two.

Remember, you can add Sydney as a friend on Facebook (name search "Sydney Claywood" ) if you want to keep in the loop with future Sydney related events.

Cheers!

Barnstable Loftus was a great inventor. He had been credited with the creation of the steam operated player piano and the fire powered ice cream refrigerator. What would become his most acclaimed and most dangerous invention, however, was yet to be revealed.

But this game does not follow the story of the great inventor Loftus, rather the story of his adopted daughter and loyal assistant Inessa.

Inessa is woken by the smell of smoke and burning chemicals. She races down the stair case to discover her Master’s workshop torched and no trace of Loftus.

The townsfolk are convinced that a dragon must be responsible or that the crazy inventor must simply have blown himself up- but Inessa believes otherwise.

Isn’t it a little suspicious that Loftus would be targeted on the eve of presenting his new invention? The miraculous flying machine known as the Sky Cap, which had consumed much of Loftus’ career, had to be involved somehow.

Reveal clues, solve the mystery, explore vast environments and interact with colorful characters in this fantasy adventure game.

NOTES FROM THE AUTHOR:

This is my fairly blatant attempt to cash in on the popularity of Hayao Miyazaki's films. I went through a lot of dramas in the production of this game, but I'll refrain from divulging them unless you're absolutely interested.

I'm not completely happy with the game, but I've decided rather than sit on it any longer, I should release it "as is" in the hope that some find joy in it. The story is incomplete as the game was intended as the first in a four part series. Please ignore the "CHEEKY CHIC DESIGN" splash screen. I thought it sounded cool at the time.

There are some slightly ambitious things about this project that I am proud of.
1. The nearly completely customised GUI, including a saving system, a main menu, an inventory, an objectives panel and an actions panel.
2. The inclusion of special hidden "star dust"  that allows the player a chance to buy clues.
3. The excellent sound track by Jake Craig (I know, I can't really take credit for this, but I'm still really proud of his efforts).

Okay, enough jabbering. Enjoy the game!

PS. Thank you to all those who played and enjoyed the first game. I hope I can address the mistakes that I made in Sydney Finds Employment and create another fun game for y'all.

Sydney Finds Employment

Sydney Claywood wakes in his alley one day to discover a new policy set in place by a joint venture between the political parties, churches and big businesses to rid the streets of homelessness and unemployment. There solution is a ‘final solution,' of sorts.

Sydney decides that the only way to save himself and his friends is to go directly to the heart of the plan, the CBD, and argue his case. However, in the back of Syd's mind is the constant idea that ‘Maybe I could, you know, just find a REAL job.

There is some suggestive and slightly rude content here. I'd only really recommend it for mature audiences.

Hi, I'm a pixel artist over at PJ, and I frequently create hand drawn cartoons that I post on my blog . I decided to create a game that features one of my characters, a homeless man named Sydney Claywood. This is my first outing as an adventure game maker, but I'm getting a bit of advice from buloght and bernie on the coding front. I also have Pixel Blink, a fellow PJ admin, creating an original score for the game. I'm hoping people will enjoy my efforts to bring them a fun and humorous adventure.

Here's some screen grabs of the game so far:

And here's a promotional poster I drew for the game:

Hope you like it so far- feedback is a plus!

Hi,
I've been working my way through my first game and so far things have gone well. I've managed to survive off many of the online tutorials. However, the in built AGS-HELP file simply won't open for me.

It gives me the message

"
Action canceled
Internet Explorer was unable to link to the Web page you requested. The page might be temporarily unavailable.
"

I've downloaded on three different computers and using both of the links given on the main page and it still won't run. This is mighty frustrating because all I hear is 'DON'T ASK QUESTIONS ON THE FORUM UNLESS YOU'VE READ THE MANUAL!'

Well, my question is about HOW to get the manual to run properly! The irony is doing my head in, but so are all the little questions I need answered about the AGS software.

Basically I'm sick of asking my pixel joint friend, Buloght, for help, even though he's been incredibly patient. It's time to reach out to the community.

Cheers in advance,
ist
