I finaly decided to get myself a wacom...since I spend alot of time painting and drawing (digitally and on paper aswell). Equiped with painter8 and the wacom I feel the digital result comes much closer as to how it would look in the old fashioned way...Here are 2 paintings I worked on last night and the night before:

I know they're extremely huge...so I posted the links....
Some C+C is appreciated....Also any other people here who use painter8 and a tablet ? Maybe they can share some of their works here....I'm more than willing to see what people are capable of using it....

Cheers!

Okay I was browsing the blitz inspiration topic to come up with an idea when I came across this guy (hmm not sure what his name was) who suggested to do a "your favourite monkey Island scene" blitz...pretty cool idea if you'd ask me...I thought it would be even more cool if we'd do a
"Your favourite scene from your favourite adventure in your own style" blitz....
Which means that if Hugo's House of Horrors happens to be your favourite adventure and you accidentally happen to have the exact same drawing style choose your second favourite adventure game ;) This doesn't necessarily has to be a commercial game...but just name the game and scene you refered to...Also it would be cool to paste a link to the original screenshot (not necessary though)...
Okay since this blitz has a pretty flexible theme let's not get to strict on the rules as well. Just stick with 320*240 or 320*200 @ as much colors a you prefer...
Well I guess that's about it...rest me to wish you happy blitzing.

Cheers !

General Discussion / Real Photoshop brushes
Tue 30/03/2004 21:54:41
Couldn't find a topic on this subject on the forums yet....What I'm looking for is a set of brushes for photoshop that feel like real brushes...A brush that actualy looses it's paint (could go for the fade brush setting, but still it's different)...and kind of reacts to the paint allready present on the layer like real paint would do...I remember using this app. called Satori someting (think it was called film fx, though it had nothing to do with film ) a while ago which had great brush 'physics' simulation...It realy felt as if you were painting on a canvas with oil paint, but apart from the brushes it sucked...Maybe there's a way to archieve this in photoshop aswell by tweaking your brushes...I spend quite some time on this but no way I could get close to the desired result...Though getting a waterpaint look is no problem....
I hope it's kinda clear what i'm aiming at...maybe people could post some cool brush settings they use alot and have that feel to em that I was trying to describe...

Cheers!

Hey guys,

This weeks theme is :

Your Favourite drug

Size : 100*100
Colors : 256

So a sprite of the drug that you dig most...can't be to hard ;)) As long as you are addicted to it it's accepted. Can be anything from sex to chocolate to heroine or even your computer ;))

So be creative and have fun !

cheers!

How about not doing a christmas related background blitz...

Theme : Circus built on top of a mountain.

Since this is the non-christmas comp. xmas related items are prohibited...such as xmas trees, santas, ..and most important NO snow.
Those are the only restricions...so choose a size that you prefer same goes for colors...

Well that's about it. Have fun making your background and I hope to see some cool entries.

Cheers !

Now this is starting to piss me off! My machine crashed again while I was scripting on my game...Again after the reboot all sprites were gone!
My last backup is 5 days old, and i've been coding like hell in those 5 days...Now I have to start all over again from that backup...$#@#%^&!!

Ow ya don't have to react on this post...just had to get rid of agression...can't script while I'm this agressive ;))

Guess there no way to avoid those anoying error messages of missing sprites ? (Yeah...I know the answer)...

Well I feel better now...thanx for listening...

Hey guys...I'm doing this adventure game set in the delta-blues era.
All puzzles and plot have been written except for one puzzle. The main
character is equiped with a harmonica (blues harp in c).
Now for this specific puzzle the player has to play a specific song (needless to say a blues song would be best) to trigger an event in the game.  I made an interface which allows the player to play any note that you could play on a harmonica in C major, 10 hole. Thus playing a song in these relatively notes
http://www.michael-thomas.com/music/class/harmonica_notes.htm
is possible.
Now my problem is the puzzle would probably be a dissapointment if the the player is trying to play a song that he has never heard (thoug I will give the player directions on how to play the specific song). I could go like "Yeah I'll let him play that cewl lead belly or robert johnson riff" but I'm not sure if people would apreciate playing a song they've never heard of.  I could realy use some advise on some songs, preferably old bluess songs, that would be known to most people and are not to difficult to play for someone who never touched an instrument (Okay we're talking about a virtual instrument, but still). Anything that comes in mind to you guys is more that welcome.

I know, this is a probably a strange question/topic but it's been bugging me for a few weeks so I just give it a try since I couldn't find a cewl solution myself.

Cheers and thanx in advance,

Okay I'm doing this character animation which took me about 70 frames.
Now I want to import those 70 frames into the sprite manager but no way I'm going to import them all one by one by clicking the "Import new sprite" button 70 times :) I tried importing them as a flc file but didn't work out cause it kinda fucks up the frames....
It's probably been asked before (I couldn't find it on the forums though) but is there any efficient way of importing multiple sprites into the sprite manager without suffering from RSI afterwards ?

Cheers!

Hey guys...
Does anyone know which function allows me to replace a character
from one position to another in an instant, so without actualy going through the walk cycle or seeing the character move. Couldn't find it in the AGS help nor on the forum.

Cheers!
