Critics' Lounge / Low Res Character
Thu 21/10/2010 21:19:35
Here's what I've come up to:
1x 3x

What do you think? I bet there are many places to improve and I'd like to know which ones. I seem to have the hardest time making the feet but I think I'm on the right tracks already.

Critics' Lounge / Help with outdoor background
Sun 31/01/2010 19:34:08
As you can propably see the background is still under construction but it's already obvious that it's too plain and a bit too happy/colourful for my intentions. I'm not looking for a filmnoir type of dark atmosphere but a little more realistic aproach than the current candyland scheme. But as I'm kinda new to these things I'd like to hear your advice how to accomplish my goals.

Critics' Lounge / Bedroom at night background
Tue 21/04/2009 21:07:11
I'm trying to make a nightly bedroom with the only light coming from the one window it has.
The light is supposed to be from the moon and street lamps so I thought the blue color would be the best choice.
What do you think? Do you think the room needs something more or does the coloring need some more love etc?

Critics' Lounge / Help with pose
Sat 18/04/2009 00:17:30
Hya. I've been playing around trying to make a chap wearing a white shirt with collar and blue jeans. I've actually made walking animations for him already but I noticed that the front pose I just plain and boring and stupid looking. For reference I'm quite satisfied with the side pose.

Some tips to get a better front pose would be greatly appriciated. And of course I'll gladly receive some general tips/critics about the char, it means of course that I'll have to reanimate but it won't be a big problem.

Critics' Lounge / First Room and Character
Sat 14/02/2009 00:28:50
Hello there! I just could help posting my first attemps to make a room for my first game. I'm just too excited. :) I'd like to know what you think about it and even more I'd like to now how to improve it: make the room look a little more "real", how the shadows should go and is there anything I can make to improve the character (which is low-res as you can see).

Curtains down. Character facing the screen.

Curtains up. Character facing away from the screen.

Sideview of the character. TV's on. :D

Hello! This is my first post on the forum so I hope this isn't the most stupid question asked.  :)
I've been playing around with AGS for a day or two now and have come up with a little problem considering text on screen. I'm using the "all text is speech" mode and it's all fine except for one thing. I'd like an alarm clock to alarm when I interact with it. Now the two ways I've come up with at the moment are: Display, which is stupid because then it's my main character saying it and doing a talking animation and DisplayAt, which I don't like either because I don't want to have a text box as it kinda takes away the feeling of a clock alarm.

The goal I'm aiming to is simply a red "RING, RING, RING" text in the top middle of the room, giving a impression that the whole room is filled with noise.

Thank you, I hope you understand what I'm talking about. I'm having somekind of minor "writer's block" at the moment. :D
