The new version seems to be buggy. I tried three different levels. Two times I couldn't speed up the timer, another time I could speed up the timer but the water wouldn't flow faster.

Thanks for the new cursor, that's definitely an improvement. I wished though that one could see the exact shape/size of the brush.

If you go for such a simple low color pixel art, I would suggest you make a much smaller character!

The walkcycles are pretty good, but i wonder why her arm movements in the profile walk are so different. Her left arm is moving much further forwards and lesser backwards.

You are implying that, without laws and a way to enforce them, that the crime rate would stay within reasonable limits, just through the personal restraint and good nature of people?

I wanted to imply that this society produces the reasons for people to go against each other. You imply that there is some sort of human nature that needs to be tamed.. by other people. And you should also keep in mind that law enforcement usually doesn't prevent these crimes, but merely punish them.

I'm gonna just mostly ignore the weirdly personal slant of your reply to me, as it was obvious from my post that I was talking about society in general, and not a private desire to cause death and pain to others. I'll just take it as the childish attempt to troll that I suspect it is.

But that's exactly the issue: Why is it always the others and not you? I meant the question seriously: Would you behave shitty against other people, just because you don't have a force stopping you from doing so? I would say that the often violent competitive behavior derives from the society we live in. If you don't have a private desire to inflict pain on others, why do other people have it?

This looks quite nice. I always liked (and preferred) isometric RPGs with turn-based combat.

Right, a new forum member who just registered to jump in on a three months old discussion about using AI for making games, posting enthusiastically while sounding exactly like your usual motivating chatbot 

If it's completely playable in its current state, and you want people to play your game, I would say do that in the completed games thread. Just write down a note that will inform people that the game will get more updates in the future.

But if with "constantly" you mean that you'll post an update once a week or something, people will get annoyed, because your game will always be on top of the forum.

Looking good! Especially since you mentioned you knew nothing about art when you started.

I'm also using paint.net and never moved to anything fancier. It's also very easy to use but has some more feautures than MS Paint. And the lack of layers and transparency makes Paint really kind of useless, except for very simple stuff.

So... we're getting closer to the "Make my game" button in AGS editor be a reality instead of a joke!

Sorry for reviving this thread, but yes, we are getting close to the make my game button, but not in AGS.

I tried out Unity and asked ChatGPT to help me with things. ChatGPT seems to perfectly know how Unity and C# work. I could do something like creating a starmap with certain rules and have a good visualized pathfinder and clickable stars within an hour. Knowing almost nothing about Unity and rather little about C# and pathfinding I would have needed days or weeks for that.

So, for Unity, ChatGPT is definitely a great help.

That said, I am right now (or for a few months now) thinking about making a game with AI art (that I edit to make it coherent and without glitches). In fact, playing around with AI art gave me the idea to the game because I found that I could produce a lot of images that fit a certain style and setting. So in the game I could have some nice art, but concentrate mostly on coding and gameplay.

I would never make this the norm for me though, because I love doing art and create certain, unique styles. And as of now, the AI art is very limited and doesn't give you enough freedom anyway. For the game I think of developing though, which would consist mainly of menus and small fixed images (who represent characters and buildings), it's sufficient.

For me, AI would never, or not in my lifetime, replace "real" art. What I do think though is that AI art can give you a lot of ideas to inspire you.

Wouldn't it be (theoretically) possible to have a textcolor for a specific String instead of a whole label? That way one could add several strings in a row with different colors each.

I was just wondering the same thing. I also experimented with text labels and wasn't able to have different colors within a single label/line. Would be a great functionality.

Like, Does it continuously set the gui1.x? Or does it do it once and then gets triggered again once globalint1 gets to 10?

Yes, it would set the GUI's position every frame, continuously, so you should definitely use your second code.

Oh, and you should really form a habit of giving your GUIs and variables proper names, otherwise your code could become unreadable.
