i know this thread's been dead for years, but since the internet doesn't seem to die tomorrow and maybe another mac-user wants to play "5 days a stranger" the day after tomorrow, here how it works now:
Do not download the normal game, but the special edition.

With the special edition there will be no problem with the gray text or the missing black background using the AGS Runtime.
And there it is: another little problem solved; the internet is one step closer to being perfect
