you can have your character start in this room but there is an option to make him/her not physically visible..then just add 3 objects..those objects would be your load, start or whatever.  then when user clicks an object..the next room would load.

this has to be covered in a tutorial somewhere.

yes sorry steve, actually the boss was a paint over of roger too...ahha he changed a bit more then she did.Ã,  I'm actually not really pleased with her still.

a few attempts at 'bored movements.Ã,  which one is better -less but more powerful actions - or more actions..but not as exciting?



and pinstripe does his moves..a bit jerky.

thankyou for the comments everyone. i fixed some of the black outlining and have a few more characters..they are for a 640x400 game..with screens actually at 640+ x 300..so i have a black border at top and bottom.



new peoples.Ã,  as i was kindly reminded below, the girl's legs are from someone's roger wilco character, and also the mob guy in dark suit was worked off a picture of a mob guy i found on google..so itll be edited a bit more.Ã,

hahaha, yes he isnt the main character..and i had been toying with the idea of having a homosexual and wannabe-gangster sidekick character that follows around the lead character and occasionally helps...ill post his passive movements soon - they are pretty funny. 

ill also post the main character soon - i have about double the cast drawn now.

your last pic...you modified the 200 percent drawing..with tiny changes..it looks good...but when you shrink it back youll lose all the detail

the rooms are all very good but the first one is the best.  I believe it is because you have the most clutter in it..the other rooms seem a  bit empty.

i like the shading, but it should be more consistent throughout..so subtract a little from the inner panels and maybe add a bit to the outer, with the M it should seem alot more monolith burger.

Arthur: Ah, this is obviously some strange use of the word safe that I wasn't previously aware of.

this is awesome.  i think hand-drawn sprites would look beautiful in this..(though you say you cant draw) but rendered characters might be nice too - though itll make it less cartoony.  i think you have a small gap  of blackness on the ground before your balcony, other then that the renders are sweet.  looks a bit time consuming.

I'm sorta new to ags and I just began a mob style mystery game that is half comedy/half serious.Ã,  This is the first characters I've came up with.Ã,  I played a little with different poses with the last one.Ã,  Do they all seem to go together?Ã,  I find the girl doesn't look cartoony enough..and maybe the fat mob boss's suit should be a brighter color?

i believe he doesnt really look like hes walking because you have no movement in the rest of the body except feet and hands.  the shoulders, and the rest of the arm should change in each frame even if just slightly.  maybe his head could change a tiny bit too..and add and subtract a few pixels from each side of his cape each frame to suggest movement.

I guess I'll have to wait for the finished product.  Its just that when I saw a screenshot taken directly from a game I love with another head, and sprites that look just like early Sonny Bonds in a trekkie costume, it bothered me a little. esp since no credit was given...

but good luck with your project.
