if you ask me, part of the magic in those old games was that they didn't use eyecandy backgrounds, they just made use of the hardware that was available at the time.
why not make two short demos, one mouse driven and one with a text parser using the exact same puzzle so people can download, play and have something visual to make an opinion from?
i'd say forget about the text parser and go with mouse, but that's just me and you are you and you are the one that's making the game after all...

QuoteIn the second one his legs should be sorta draged. To me it looks like he's crawling. no offence of coarce

that's what the original Kyojo looks like, he didn't make it, somebody else did, which is why he said he based on it him

Pleurghburg had an optional fog effect, but it really slowed things down (and i was using an athlon 800 with 512mb ram at the time)

By funky, I didn't really intend to imply funk music (although that'd be cool too), but more like "wacky".

or smelly :D

i might actually try do something for this, i've already started designing a character

yes, but that doesn't make sense, there are more people out there with PCs with windows then there are people with Xboxes, so surely there's more money to be made through pc games sales...

edit:

that's another thing, Halo was originally a pc game, so why didn't they just continue work on that code instead?

if i'm not mistaken porting to pc from xbox isn't that difficult due to the OS being windows based...
plus aren't all these games still coded on a pc anyway? that's something i've never understood.

it's not funny at all, it's a stupid waste of time, and repeating it later on in the game is another stupid waste of time, apart from that the game is good... ish...

actually, it's given me a great idea!
vel, you don't exist

there are specialist companies that charge a lot of money for data recovery, if you REALLY want your data back you should try find one.

for compatibility i'd install Win98se, it's never given me any problems and runs everything i need to without any problems.
but, it seems that you already know what the problem is (the biggest being having WinME installing in the first place), KRNL386.exe and COMCTL32.dll, IF your WinME cd is a pirate copy these files could be damaged, if you know somebody else with a copy of WinME ask to borrow it and see if the install is better.
the problem could also be memory, if it's faulty you'll get all kinds of problems, try get yourself a copy of Norton Systemworks which will allow you to check all of your hardware for problems, also get something like RAM Idle Pro, this programme will give you information about how much free RAM you have and let you free it up.
you might also want to consider upgrading your graphics card, and if you are going to install new drivers make sure they are signed.
another thing you could try is install win98 then the winME upgrade, but winME isn't really suited for people wanting to use PCs, even microsoft have said it was a mistake...
