Well what's the point in anything in life. We'll all die at some point.
Dying seems a good point!
But what I meant was that all the Monkey Islands work perfectly using ScummVM, and it'd be pretty hard for anyone to beat the quality of the music in the games, or the art in 2 and 3, or the humour. While it might serve as an interesting programming exercise (although again, ultimately pointless), there's no real reason to remake the Monkey Islands. Someone was working on a demake for MI3 in MI2 art style (which I definitely prefer), but again, they can't REALLY hit the same level of quality as the original MI2. I suppose someone could attempt to do a remake of 1 using the art style of 2, but that seems like an awful lot of effort for something that again, will probably never reach the same level of quality as what you're trying to emulate, and you won't ever really be able to call your own.

Should I shorten it or just throw it out altogether? Because at the moment my game is severly lacking in the puzzle department.
Perhaps you can shorten it. The main issue I had was that it seemed convoluted and there seemed a lot like something you'd have to be you to know how to do it (and there'd be easier ways to do it anyhow). Like why doesn't the player just pour the drink on to the fusebox? Or stick in the coin he was going to use to buy the drink? Or spit in it or something?

There are a couple of fan games created or being created (with ripped, similarly styled as well as original graphics), but no direct remake of Monkey Island, no. What would be the point?

I personally don't think it is a good puzzle. It seems tedious and there just as an obstacle to prolong the game.

Hahaha...I didn't know the other two games you listed existed, but you are right! It is Wayne's World.

Wayne's World The Game? Beetlejuice The Game? The Naked Gun the Game?
Is that a guess? :cheesy:

No, it is not Future Wars either. Think something a lot less serious.

XChat for Windows did that for a while. Don't think they bother any more.
No, now they charge for it outright (with a 30 day free trial).

It is neither of those. I did not expect this game to be so hard to guess. It is a real hassle getting screenshots (long, interactive, unskippable intro, and I keep forgetting to save past it), and that music (at least at the start gets simultaneously repetitive and ingrained in your brain REALLY fast.
But if nobody can guess it in a bit, I guess I'll post another screenshot.

As a small hint, you guys are getting the vibe of the game completely wrong!

Not KGB or Zak McKracken

Probably make it much easier:

I was worried everyone hated me and my stupid game choices. Thanks for reassuring me. ;D
If there are no guesses soon, I'll post another screenshot (it's such a hassle getting through the beginning of that game).

Heh...I guess my eyes just automatically skipped over the second X.
Here's one I figure will be relatively easy, but I haven't seen it in the thread yet:

Don't have any pictures, but in some public places I've seen those "trough toilets", but as only one, built into the wall, all along the wall, with a slope going from one end to the drain at the other end. So....everyone pissed into one "container", and the piss would combine with everyone else's piss and go down the drain in a river of urinity. Pleasant image!

I'm not the sort of person to take pictures of toilets (nor did I hang about in there longer than necessary), so I don't have pictures, though.

I keep being baffled by how Sierra was omnipresent in the videogames market, and yet they eventually collapsed. How did they not end up being Valve?
I think Half-Life was published by Sierra :P

Also, I realise your character is kind of cartoony, so it might not follow human proportions exactly, but the thing that stands out most to me is that his arms seem a bit short.
Example: http://digtialvisualeffects.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/prop_male.gif
It'd usually be the wrists and part of the forearms below the waist when standing loose, but yours barely has his fingertips below the waist. Maybe elongate it 2 or 3 pixels? And I'm not sure how simple this'll be within the limitations of 30x60, but absolutely straight arms also seem a bit unnatural, perhaps you can give them a slight bend at the elbows?
And ears! And maybe a pixel worth of sideburns?

As far as the animated legs go, they look good, though, at least to me!

#697
You should add hand movement as well to make it more natural.

I'm shocked you didn't know that :D

While the makers/sellers of those might not know anything about fish, you might ask them if they're toxic to kids (I guess they'd expect that question, a kid might put anything in its mouth). Fish aren't the same as humans, but it's a start, right?

What is it with adventure games and maps? :D
