Hello.

Sorry for my bad Englisch. I would like to ask something. Is this game somewho connected to this project?

http://www.adventure-treff.de/artikel/features/lucasfan_vorschau.php

No, that's the game that was supposedly cease and desisted.  Thanks!  I've never seen those images!

Does anyone know if Torsten's link is recent?  I couldn't find a date and I don't speak German.

Quo:  Brilliant as always!  Next week can't come soon enough!

Transmorphers came out before Titanic II.

Snakes on a Train.

This exists?!?

OH... MY... GOD...

To the Googles!  :D

It's not just snakes ON the train-- there's one that SWALLOWS the damned train.   ;)  It's absolutely absurd.

It's an Asylum film.  They exploit big-grossing properties by quickly releasing low-budget knock-offs.  Though Titanic II is curious in their oeuvre  because it wasn't released to coincide with another film.  I mean it was over 10 years late to Titanic's success...  Their films have a certain charm of their own.  Worth checking out some of their titles if you're into trashy cinema.  I own, for instance, Snakes on a Train.

It IS out.  Has been showing to limited screenings in Canada for a week or so now.

It's getting great reviews at the horror/exploitation forums I frequent.  Alas, I'm in the US and haven't had the chance to see it yet.

Anyone working on a translation yet?

Personally I'm thinking why is he running around in super-tight boxers?

I almost sent you a PM the other day to see how progress was going.  This is one I've been very interested in.

Looking great!!  :D

I do agree with Mad.  I think a little middle ground won't hurt.  I like his revision a good deal.

Though I think one could also go mad with endless tinkering...  ;)

Looking great indeed!  ;D

Keep at it, quo-- your work is incredible!

Just chiming in more encouragement.  That second walk-cycle looks great to me!  ;D

By the way...

You mentioned you may add the bag later--

The bag is actually a green canvas, not brown as I've often seen it depicted.  Should you decide to add it, perhaps that could make it easier to draw in too since it won't fade in with the whip.

Quo, you're a miracle-worker!   :o

I'm salivating; the sprites are gorgeous!! :D

Love the new screens.  Though I agree, when you study it really closely, something is slightly askew on the right side.

I have one very small criticism, quo.  On the Indy sprite, his bag strap sits really awkwardly.  This might be nit-picking since I collect Indy gear and own that very same bag, but it sits at his hip, not under his arm.

Excuse my hasty paintover, I lack your skills, but I just wanted to demonstrate my point:

Mine:

Yours:

And hell, if we really wanted to get nitpicky, Indy actually wears his strap on the opposite shoulder...  It runs from right shoulder to left hip.

This would be as it was in the film:

But... just a small detail.  Take of it what you will...

Loving this so far.

As for the spelling-- no offense, but it's really poor.  But if you want to release an update, PM me and let's talk.  Being currently unemployed, I have far too much time on my hands.  But yeah, if you send me your script, I promise a typo-free edit in at least a few days, at most a week.

It goes without saying at this point, but WOW!!!   :o

Best of luck, man.  You've produced some phenomenal stuff so far.

I adore the banner you made for the game, quo!  So much detail for such a small graphic.

Well again, just proof-reading.  I only know a few phrases in Spanish so I don't know how much use I'll be in the initial translation phase. :)

Very excited for this project.  There have been a number of other Indy fan games, but none so perfectly capture the tone of FOA as yours seems to.  Your artwork would look right at home in Fate of Atlantis.

Hi quo_sp.

The last Raiders fan game was given a Cease & Desist letter by LucasArts.  The game was being made by a team called LucasFan Games.  They also released Maniac Mansion Deluxe.

Hi BaptisteTheFool.

Even for a fan game LucasArts forced to cancel it?, ups, I don't like advance more in the game and be forced to cancel it. Do you think it is possible?

I wouldn't worry about it.  Honestly I don't think anyone really knows why they got the C&D letter.  And I've read some reports that suggest that they may never have really gotten one and may have stopped making the game for other reasons.

There are lots of other Indy fan games and similar projects and all have gone about with no legal interference.  The rule of thumb is that as long as you aren't profiting from it and it's clearly marked as a fan game, you should be fine.

On another note-- I'd love to lend support in any way I might on this project.  Can't assist with anything technical; I've no skills in programming or drawing.  But I could certainly assist with proofreading an English translation.

Look At: Ark

"I don't think that will work!"

;)

Remarkable work here!  The attention to detail is splendid.  Hopefully you'll be able to finish this and it doesn't go the way of the last ROLA fan project.

Cheers to you!

EDIT:

I don't know if you're considering making a full-length game based on this or if you're just doing a Tanis short game (your first post is a little unclear to me in that regard), but if you do drag this full length, here are some ideas I'd love to see:

1. A cooperative puzzle for the Flying Wing.  In some FOA puzzles you had to switch between Sophia and Indy to finish the puzzle; I could see something similar for the wing.  Marion would have a puzzle with the controls of the wing while Indy has to either outwit or fight the mechanic.

2. I could picture something like the car chase from FOA for the truck chase sequence.

3. Last Crusade just does the prologue as the unplayable opening credits; I hope you don't go that route here-- I'd really enjoy playing the Peru stage.

Cheers again!

EDIT 2:

One small thing on the Indy sprite (which I love); the sleeves aren't rolled.  Not a big deal, but Indy has his sleeves rolled in Cairo in the film, it might make for a neat detail in the game as well.

Again, very impressed with what you've done so far!
