Happy Birthday, Vincent, amico mio.

Have a great day.

Ciao, Vincent, amico mio

Good advice about the shielding.

I can't believe that a year has gone by since you, and Retrojay,
released this brilliant game.

Over a four year period you delivered thousands of lines of
intricate programming, while Retrojay agonised over the perfect
placing of every pixel, to create all the artwork.

I was pleased to see that Tales of Jayvin achieved 5 nominations,
and was awarded the best non-adventure game of 2019.

I am surprised though, that in view of this, the game has not been
downloaded many times. It deserves far better.

Anyway, Happy Birthday for the 6th of June.  I will add this to the
Happy Birthday thread on Saturday a.b.w.

To slightly misquote the poet, Robert Browning - 'Oh to be in England now
coronavirus is here.'

A large percentage of the population have turned into complete morons.

Thieves, as Slasher pointed out, are stealing anything they can get their
hands on while fly tippers, are out in force, ruining the countryside.

Day trippers, who normally would be invading every other country at this
time of year (you have my sympathy) are now swarming over our resorts,
leaving unmentionable packages in their wake, because very few public
toilets are open, and are now fighting on the beaches. ( Sounds like the
second world war, though certainly not as honorable) I just despair.

Ciao, Vincent, amico mio

You could well be right.

Scientist should stop blaming bats, fish, cats, dogs and any
other animal you can think of.

As soon as the moon rises, lock yourself indoors. If you have to
go out, remember to social distance from werewolves.  :-D

Just love the way Night Stalker, the Werewolf, gobs the Black Death virus
over his adversary.

Can't think why, but it kinda reminds me of a certain situation in which
we all find ourselves.  :-D

Oh, no! I have been unmasked. Blondbraid has discovered my true identity.

I will have to change my Avatar now.

Done!... The likeness is uncanny.

Well, I'm sorry to say this guys, but it seems to me that the human race is
well and truly screwed. Nature has been fighting back, of late, culminating
in coronavirus. If, as some of the experts suggest, we will never be free of
this disease, homo sapiens could be wiped off the face of the Earth and it
will be no great loss. The damage caused by us will soon be healed. The
planet will be reborn in its former glory where flora and fauna can flourish.

AGS Games in Production / Re: Abscission
Sun 17/05/2020 18:01:38

Hi Yanek_Crispbread

Earlier on this afternoon I was raving about an up and coming game called
The Adventures of Black Hawk.

I now find myself going into raptures again over Abscission.

I will be looking forward to the release of another old school game

Who needs technical wizardry etc. when far more interesting and fulfilling
games, such as yours, can be produced.

Horror rules OK!

I absolutely Love, love, love (not enthusing too much am I ?) the look and feel
of this game and can't wait to play it. I have had a look at the trailer and it
doesn't disappoint. You can't beat the Retro games.

Well done Croquetasesina. Keep up the good work.

Hi Pogwizd

My Spanish isn't only rusty, it is non-existent. Which is unfortunate because I would
love to give this game a go.

If you are looking for a game with plenty of puzzle solving, I would suggest Tales of Jayvin.
This game has a bit of everything, but is not for the complete a game in five minutes player.

The Lost Prince of Lorden is pure adventure and The Decorcist is platform/adventure.

Hi Frodo

I can confirm that this game is for PC because I have just downloaded the free
trial from Big Fish.

I was a bit worried  when after installation, I got the following message : Microsoft
visual C++ 2012 redistributable (x64) - 11.0.61030. Modify set up. There were
three options - Repair, close or uninstall. I chose repair and the game then ran.

I have made a start but will continue playing tomorrow abw.

There is another game that I would like to recommend called 'City of Fools'
I had hours of fun with this.

You are quite right, Snarky, in your assumption that this game is classified as Hidden object.

However, it has adventure and puzzle solving.

Darkarta can be bought on Steam. You can play for 60 - 90 mins if you visit the Big Fish site, for free.

I wasn't aware of this game, and will be trying it myself, to see if it appeals. I must say that it looks
pretty good.

Hidden object games have come a long way in recent years and are very enjoyable.

Thank you Iyman Jo for bringing Darkata to my attention.

Well done everybody who received an award, for their excellent game,
especially Spamfastic Studios for bringing us Tales of Jayvin. I am still
playing the game, on and off, in the hopes of achieving 100%.

If you need a bit of virtual escapism after being confined to home,
because of the dreaded Corona virus, then lose yourself in this beautiful
game.

Happy Birthday, for yesterday, RetroLee. Sorry I'm a day late, but you know
what they say -' Better late than never'. Anyway, hope you had a great day.

Congrats to all nominees. I was thrilled to see that Tales of Jayvin appeared in several categories.
Well done Vincent for being rewarded for your excellent programming skills. I was, however, disappointed
that Retrojay got no mention for his artistic talent. The unbelievable amount of fantastic drawings he
produced for the game should have received some recognition. There is so much to the game that I doubt
most people got to see half of what it contains.

Hi Athanor.

I hope you are enjoying playing Tales of Jayvin. Vincent was spot on when he advised you about the hunger bar
and likelihood of dying. The chances of which are very slim. Also, take your time walking the landscape. Running
everywhere will reduce your hunger bar quicker. Sometimes you can find food in chests or it just spawns in random
locations. If you need a more substantial meal go see Jen at her store. If you undertake a quest for the blacksmith
you can come by a horse.

Are you having any difficulty with battles? There are only three main enemies in the game which you need to deal
with to progress. One is a level 10 cave troll. The next is a character called Nick De Vile (Level 20 I believe) and the
end game Demon Spider (Level 32 I believe) These are all DARK characters so who will you need to train up and arm
with special powers bought from Captain Horatio Crowe. You will need to hire his boat and visit the islands to
encounter the best ally for the battle. It is a good idea to do this while at a low level. Then concentrate on training
this ally

I hope I have explained this correctly. I have played and completed Tales of Jayvin myself and found this worked
for me. I was quite chuffed when I dispatched the Demon Spider without too much effort.

Vincent is the expert when it comes to Final Fantasy games, so if you get stuck I'm sure he will be only too pleased to
help.

In fact, if there is any aspect of the game anyone is struggling with, be it quests puzzles etc. please don't be afraid to
ask for help from Retrojay or Vincent (Spamfastic Studios)

With the game awards just around the corner, I thought I would put in a word for Tales of Jayvin.

My contribution to this game was writing 'The History of Naturnum' in seven books, which can be
purchased from Page Turners store, poetry, dialogues and everything in between.

Since Tales of Jayvin first appeared, in June of last year, I have been following its progress, and
I am surprised that more people have not downloaded and played this brilliant offering. (I'm not
biased - honest )

Mandle, Shadow and Lorenzo, and RetroLee (In the order they posted comments) on the whole
all raved about the game, so why the lack of interest?

Is it the length of the game putting people off? if so then don't worry because there is a perfectly
functioning SAVE option. No need to try to play in one sitting. (You couldn't, anyway, unless you
wanted to suffer sleep deprivation ) If it is the battling that puts you off, it isn't really
difficult with just a little thought. Puzzles are interesting and not too taxing on the grey matter.

RetroJay and Vincent, Spamfastic Studios, put their hearts and souls into Tales Of Jayvin. It would
be doing them an injustice not to give it a go.

Site & Forum Reports / Re: Site down?
Thu 26/12/2019 11:53:34
Hallelujah! The site is actually accessible, at the moment.

I did report on the problems, last week, but when the topic
was moved my post mysteriously disappeared.

I hope the powers that be can sort this issue, a.s.a.p

Accessing the AGS website is definitely problematic. During the last week, most days, it has
been down more than its been up.

Happy Birthday Retrojay. Have a nice day.
Can't believe another year has whizzed around.
