Hints & Tips / Re: Mudlarks
Sat 10/03/2018 14:15:41
Hi there sora_phoenix

I looked back at notes I made when I played the game and found the following:

Man throws boys ball into river. Boy askes if you can retrieve it. Go further along and
see fierce dog with ball in mouth. Chav is nearby. Use metal detector where you found locket, in first screen.
Find rusty nail. Man appears asking about permit. Talk to boy who wants his ball. Ask him to help. Annoy dog and chav tells you he is afraid of cats.

I hope this helps.

Adventure Related Talk & Chat / Halloween game
Sun 29/10/2017 13:20:56
With Halloween fast approaching, I would like to recommend an AGS game
that will get you in the mood. It is called The Decorcist, by Retro-Jay,
and features spooks and monsters we all know and love. Happy Trick or Treating
to you all.

Happy birthday RetroJay. Hope the year ahead is a good one for your creative juices abw.(laugh)

Hi Guys

What an anti-climax!!!!

All the great games nominated and nearly every category award
went to just two games.

Congrats to the winners, but I'm surprised there weren't others.

You're most welcome. The graphics were a pleasure to behold
and the puzzles very entertaining. The silly report in the
Newspaper made me laugh. I did find the hiding places, but
more by luck than judgement. All in all a very unusual game.

General Discussion / AGS Awards
Tue 29/03/2016 15:04:09
Hi there fellow AGSers,

After nominating my chosen games, to be entered into the AGS Awards, by clicking on 'Nominate games here' highlighted in blue,
I then decided to vote for my favourites. Now, I might seem rather dense, but I was looking for a similar lead to voting. After
much head scratching I found that by clicking on the 'AGS AWARDS VOTES', in the large lettering, this took me to the required field.
Thought I'd just mention this in case there are others who are having the same problem.

Completed Game Announcements / Re: Case Noir

This looks a good one and I have just downloaded it.

Hopefully, I will get around to playing tomorrow.

As with all games I play I will comment, and rate, on
completion.

Loved Camp 1 and was sorry when I reached the end.
I see that you are doing well on Gamejolt.
I have commented and rated your game.

Give The Lost Prince of Lorden a try, which is pure adventure, and
The Decorcist which is Platform/Adventure. Both are by RetroJay and
very entertaining.

Hi Fribbi,

Hope you manage to complete the game this time round.

Top marks for effort!
#193
Hi ManicMatt and Fribbi,

I, also, had a slight problem with this part of the game and had
to go back a save to sort it out.
Spoiler
When I first tried to convince
characters that Heaven existed I spoke to the two people, but not
to the bird and did other things. When i tried to speak to the bird just GOODBYE
came up. If you go straight from Heaven to the bird it works fine.

Hope this helps.

Wow! What a brilliant game. Egyptology has always held a fascination for me, so I loved this.
I will heap more praise on your masterpiece when I write in the comments section and give a
rating.

Nyce one Nicky. I thoroughly enjoyed playing one 1 and 2, so have been looking forward
to your 3rd installment. I will comment and rate as soon as I have completed it. I do
hope your efforts attract more attention than other good games are getting at the moment,
such as 'THE DECORCIST' by RETROJAY and 'LIMBO THE ADVENTURE GAME' by ManicMatt (Sorry if
it seems I'm hijacking your space.)  Keep up the good work.

Best Wishes

I agree with a lot that Xil said. As existing members we are aware that games are showcased in the
GAMES IN PRODUCTION and COMPLETED GAMES sections, but I suppose non members would only know this if they actually
knew the title of a game, looked it up on Google, and were directed to the Adventure GAME STUDIO site. Another valid point
Xil made is the arduous process of signing up to give a rating or make a comment. This could put people off, but even those
in the community seem to find it hard to do either of these things. Gamejolt is an alternative to showcasing games and reaching a wider audience.
However, the sheer amount of games, many of them fan based, which appear at an alarming rate means a game drops from page 1 to 101 in no time.
So unless someone is prepared to carefully scrutinise all 900 odd pages there is little chance  your game would be noticed.

Hi Fellow AGSers

Don't you just hate it when you go into your Supermarket of choice, because you know exactly where to lay your hands on your fave foods, only to find that everything has been moved. You then spend time and energy aimlessly wandering up and down the aisles until you finally locate your tasty treats, by which time you've lost interest in them. Apply this example to the AGS site, we all know and love, and I doubt it would be popular with the community.
Isn't it a case of IF IT AINT BROKE DON'T FIX IT.

Hi All
Just one more thing then I'll leave you in peace ( cue Sigh of relief from the powers that be)
I wonder how many members have actually defected to Multi Media Fusion and Android.
If they have they should return to AGS tout suite ( should that be tout de suite)   because we miss them.

Hi ManicMatt

As promised I have played, commented and rated your game.
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and look forward to your next offering.

Hi Darth Mandarb
Well, that certainly lightened the mood and made me laugh.
Let's hope AGSers reading and commenting on these posts will renew interest in a great package.
I'm sure there's life in the old dog yet. And I'm not talking about you! (laugh)
