It looks good. The perspective isn't exectly right, but that doesn't really stand out, and it will probably be even better after you add more detail.

Like Evil said, there's too much ceiling. I think you should move the whole room up. That will leave a big empty space on the floor, but you can always add some furniture and dark objects in the foreground.

The whole background could use some shading. But maybe you should wait until you've drawn the other details before you shade.. I can give you a few tips on shading if you want.

Aren't there adventure engines made for CE? I think someone here was working on an adventure for some palm computer a while ago..

I'd probably get laid more..

No.. Wait.

I mean..

I'd get laid finally.

Beautiful. It's pure Squinky-style, and I love it. My only suggestion is to give more contrast to the brass thinkg on his sword and costume.. And changing the color of the moon to something less intense.

AGS isn't the engine for that, at least not if you're a beginner in scripting. I'd say look for something like Game Maker (Free) or the Games Factory (about $30 I think). I'm using Game Maker for a project, and it's quite versetile, even for beginners.

Synthetique: You could fake it by playing a one-channel XM with only looped square-waves for samples. That would sound just like the internal speaker, and would also be much easier to turn off ;p

EDIT -- Like this:

SPEAKER.XM

Are you using TrueType fonts or SCI fonts? If you're using TTF fonts, then any western font should have the characters you need. If you're using SCI fonts, then you'll need to export your fonts, then edit them in SCI Graphics Studio and replace existing characters that you don't need with the spanish characters.

Neole: What version of winamp do you have? It must be old, because I know version 3, and the last version of 2 I had both support OGG.

Nice. Too bad it doesn't follow ANY of the rules  :P

I guess it's time to pick a winner now. This week's winner is Ali.

As far as creativity, I think Ali's mountain sharpener and veryweirdguy's poison tester were both very good ideas, and it was hard to decide which was better. So I decided to pick the better looking of the two. Ali's pic has an amazing level of detail..

So congrats Ali. You can host the next sprite jam.

It's not the string pad, because that's panned to the opposite side from the flute.. But after listining again, the noise might just be coming from the flute itself, or the player's breath. So forget what I said ;)

I always thought it was okay to do it either lengthwise or widthwise....

Yeah, I think Ali's picture is okay. I wasn't specific..

An there's still time for more people to enter the jam. Just hurry the hell up!!  :P

I like it. Even though there's rally no variation in the melody, the dynamics and building up to two mini-climaxes makes up for it. I don't really have any crit for the actual arrangement, but I think it might be a good idea to change that flute sample you use in the fist half, since it has a lot of noise in it..

Do frogs have penises?

Overall, I think it looks good. There's some inconsistency with the outlines though. Most of the outlines are dark, but some (like the guy's orange hair, or that purple worm thing) have outlines that aren't much darker than the shades inside. I'd suggest that you darken those outlines.. Good work on everything else, though.

24 Seconds...

Who comes up with these annoying jokes?  ???

:) I love how the people who watched the longest think the joke sucks the most.

I've already seen this. In fact, I think someone already posted it on this forum..

This week's subject: Who has the worst job?

- Sprite must depict the person with the worst job in the world. This should not be a job that exists in real life. In other words, be creative..
- 20 colors, 90 x 120 pixels

Animations are welcome, but there will be no monkey love from me.

Ben wins. Yay.

I already have an idea for the next sprite jam, so I guess I might as well start it now.

Looks good. I like the style of shading you have there. The face looks really good too.

I'm not sure about the pose though. I'm not sure if she could stand like that in real life, unless she was leaning against a wall on her left side..

Just use whatever you're comfortable with. If it's photoshop, that's fine. If it's Ms Paint, that's also fine. Just remember, a program packed with features won't help you if you don't know how to use them. And also remember that good artists almost never use photoshop filters.. You're better off working with the simplest tools (brushes, pens, and shapes) and getting comfortable with them, because those are the only tools that give you the control you need to create good, original artwork..

Don't censor yourself. As long as what you say is at least tasteful, you have every right to keep it in your game. If you piss somebody off, they certainly have a right to be pissed off. But don't let that stop you from sharing your beliefs..
