Hints & Tips / Re: Aractaur

I am stuck at the very beginning.
I have the balloon, the peanut butter and the metal saw, but no lighter, neither I have access to the office. The rat won't do anything useful, and the sergeant is as stuck as myself. :grin:
Any clue?

And pretty please, rate the games you've tested on the AGS Game Database. :)

Thanks for playing! :)
Spoiler
Arm wrestling: Oups, I'll de-activate the arrow keys during the arm-wrestling (but after the MAGS vote are ended). We are quite unsure if it need a tutorial or not, with a tutorial it sounds to easy, without, it seems to confusing... Thanks for reporting!

Otherwise there is only one option with random consequence, and one a little bit unfair (a dialogue option with the mother about sweetness), while the other have kind of logical consequence, if you think hard enough with a point'n click logic. :-D
It's kind of OK because there is more available interactions than necessary to win the game.

Our game image isimpacted impacted to. :~(
Should we consider modifying the image to one of the "authorized" resolution before the upload?

I used this version to create our MAGS game this month, all went smoothly, thanks a lot contributors!

I only notice two issues:
- I was not able to modify my game executable icon, user.ico didn't worked. :( The setup.ico did work. When the setup.ico was rename user.ico, it still did not change the game executable icon so it does not seems to be a issue with my .ico files.
- When compiling a translation, then delete it (it was a proofreading, not a proper translation, I used "make this the default language"), while the translation was deleted in the project tree, the .tra files were not deleted from the compile folder and were embedded in the Windows and Linux folder.

I will have definitely went with Monkey's solution if it was not for a MAGS projects (or if I had no work, or no family, or if I wasn't so lazy).
I am very ashamed to say that for the moment, I have made 4 normal GUIs with different width, and choosing the appropriate one in function of text length. It does the trick for the moment. And when it won't, I'll add a fifth one. :=

here is the promised screenshot:

Creamy did the character, I did the background. It will be a keyboard controlled game. :=
Good luck with the development!

I think he is posing naked for one of the current MAGS game:

Nice one HanaIndyana  !
We compete again one more time. ;)
Will post a screenshot later today.

I was afraid of that...
Thanks for the tip Monkey! I'll consider doing that, or shifting to a normal GUI with label (I am quite lazy, and it is a MAGS project so I have other things to rush first).
Drawing the borders does sound painful to code to me, with to many for loops inside each others, but if I have time I'll give it a try.

Hi there,

I am trying to display a small text that will stay on screen in a non blocking way as far as the player is onto a given region (not that hard).
For aesthetic reasons, I want to use my magnificent Text Window Gui I just created and who gives marvel results with Display functions.
I am a bit lost about how using text window gui without calling the high level Display functions. I am trying to do something like this:

Code: ags
void enterRegion(String text,  int x,  int y) {
    // gTextWindow.Text = text; <- this do note seems to exist at the moment.
    gTextWindow.SetPosition(x, y);
    gTextWindow.Visible=true;
}

Is that possible?
(using AGS 3.4.0.x, for that matter)
Thanks!

How are you doing, contestants?
Here something to tantalize you.

Like Mandle says. Adapting a novel in video game is an ADAPTATION, not stealing a game design document. Go with it.
