I have Scumm VM but it only runs a few games and I couldn't save my progress. I didn't try much more... I saw dosbox and didn't know where to start with it. I also made a boot disk that did not want to start my computer though it was downloaded from the underdogs.

Sorry for this interruption to the topic.

General Discussion / A novel
Sat 16/10/2004 10:35:47
I've started to write a novel. It's just in it's beggining with 3 scenes and a raw sketch of the plot but I thought about posting it here in a series as it develops because: 1. I don't want to lose motivation which happened few times. 2. I'd like someone to read it and say what he/she thinks.
The novel is an s-f about a group of explorers from the alien race of Akshri. They are attacked and imprisoned by a human general on the first contact at the planet of Nehra/Alpha 1 (Akshri/Human name) and the war between to races is at stake.
Would anyone care to read?

I would be interested... but first I would like to know more about your idea - the character of the magazine, the way you'll publish it and what are you specifically looking for. I know you said it might be anything, byt "anything" is a narrow branch in a magazine.

I know very well what you mean. I fear I'm gonna experience something like that soon. Hey, I'd like to see your game. I'd like to play it...
Maybe a partner could jelp you, but you can do this alone. What you need is knowledge that someone would like to see it and play. Hey, guys at this forum! Would any of you like to play Isegrim's game? If yes, say it! I think it may be a kind of motivation - someone is waiting for it.

I use both too. In my game player travels through Los Angeles. A vast area. I think it's the best strategy if the game is set in a large surrounding.
Now take something that was maybe a little different but I still think it makes an example of what I'm thinking about - In Indiana Jones you were looking at map of the world and lines going to the destination. It would be boring to make Indy go through the whole world, don't you think?

Hmm, I haven't made my game yet. It'll take a while before it's done. I think I set the level quite high for my first production.
Then I'll have to make a web page to put the files into. Maybe I'll put it in a browser. Then I'm gonna post it here and add to the games at this page. And then maybe I'll post an announcement in some game forums... Or maybe not. And that will be all I think.

Well, musicians mostly use some time to make their songs - write lyrics, then music, then change lyrics a little for the music, then the band assembles and other musicians tune to the melody, changing some parts...
But there are many eamples where songs were created on instant. The only one I can think of now is "Every Breath You Take" by The Police - written in half an hour. BTW it's my favourite song and Sting is my favourite musician :)

Many people like Zywiec. It's just my personal taste. My brother says Zywiec's the best :P

Oh mama! That was really something! Only thing i Fear is the download's size when the game's done. Keep up the good work!

Hmm... When I tried beer as a kid, I cvouldn't drink the whole glass I had. Well, things changed. I got used to the taste... I even think it tastes good - if it is a good beer of course.
In Poland where I live there is a long tradition of drinking alcohol. Beer is very popular. Me myself, I like Tyskie and Warka Strong the most (but I didn't really drink many brands - only the most popular ones).
Zywiec is a very popular beer in Poland butI don't like it - it's too bitter for me. I'm sorry if any Pole reads this and gets embarassed Ã, :P

General Discussion / Re: Who is your hero???
Sat 09/10/2004 17:16:53
Hmmm. I've got many heroes. I'll only count six: John Cleese, Graham Chapman (rest in peace lad), Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Michael Palin. These guys always made me laugh.
And now for something completely different...
No. 2. The larch.

It looks wacky so it should probably be mixed in really weird colours - yellow, light green, pink, orange, something like that.

That's tragic, really. But I love that Al Lowe's saying  :)

I've downloaded it. Your post looks promising.
