I'm running Windows 10 on my laptop with an AMD processor and AMD Radeon R4 Graphics. Just tried running a bunch of AGS games in Direct Draw. All of them started without problems. Only Journey of Iesir slowed down to a crawl but otherwise ran fine.

I was pretty sure I had seen the movie judging from the first screenshot you posted. But now with the gif I'm totally clueless. I'm just going to guess it's Twin Peaks: Fire walk with me as the background kind of reminds me of it.

Wow drawn on paper? That is some dedication. Live music too?

I'll try the game tomorrow. Looks great from what I can see on the screenshots

That's Peter Jackson indeed but that cameo is from LotR: The fellowship of the ring I think

Where in the world is that lovely German Ghost?!

I wonder about that as well. I used to have nice chats with him.

Beyond eyes fits your description very well I think:

In the game you can't see anything of the environment unless you touch it or there is sound.

In my opinion you should get rid of those game stopper bugs. But other than that, I don't think you have anything to lose. You don't have any publishers to worry about. It's better to release a game that is a little rough around the edges then not let people play something you've worked so hard on.

I just want to say hi and post on the forums again. I haven't been active for more than a couple years, but lately I have been playing more adventure games again. Plus I have been itching to work on something myself. I'm studying to become a software engineer so things should go more smoothly this time. Or I might get overly ambitious and not finish anything ever.

Good to be back.

Are you sure you can't start in Kickstart in Sweden? There seems to be a lot of them already:

I'm certain it has opened up in the Netherlands not long ago. So maybe Sweden aswell?

Anyway, great looking project. I hope you and your team are succesfull, one way or the other.

Thanks for giving it a try. I'm glad you like it. I'm not too fond of inapp purchases either. But I did a lot of research and this freenium model seems the best option.

Cool, I hope you can get something out there. Android and Google make this pretty doable. But yeah, that's probably the reason everyone is doing it. Maybe some classic  style adventure games would be cool. There don't seem to be that many of those around yet on Android.

Hello,

It has been a while since I was last on these forums. But I have just released my first game for Android and I'm trying hard to get it out there. If this is not ok to post here, please let me know.

Check it out on the Playstore:

Shop where you can buy visuals, powerups and bonuses:

Inventory where you can activate all the stuff you've bought/won:

An iOS version should be out later this year.

If you are interested I've also made a trailer and a Facebook page:

It's Top Sescret. "I'm sorry, I don't speak German..." "I know a little German, He's sitting right over there". Did have to google the quote.

Hello,

We are making a 2.5d side scroller for our final project. The project is going pretty well, except that we have no one in our team who can do music.
We really would like help with that. I'm not sure if it is frowned upon that this is a game not made with AGS, or is even an adventure game. If so, please
let me know, and we will figure something out ourself.

Project:
Dreams of Courage - 2d sidescroller platform game.

Details:
The game is about Marvyn. He's a student who has to change schools because he moves to another town with his parents. At his new school he gets bullied. In his dreams he tries to cope with the things that happened to him during the day. The levels all play in his dreams. All levels have a different theme, portraying an emotion.

Positions Available:
We need help with music as no in our team has the skills for it. We will need 4 different tunes. One for the menu, three for our levels.
The theme the levels have are:

- Happiness
- Fear
- Love

Here are some screenshots of our game:

Deadline:

Our deadline is in a couple weeks. The latest would probably 1st of May.

Comments:
I realize this is a lot to ask for and a short deadline. I also haven't been active on this forum much the last couple of years.
So in return I can contribute with 3d work if anyone needs it for their projects.

*****

Thanks in advance!

Hey.

I keep trying to render an image of something I've modeled in Maya 2013 but it keeps rendering in polygon instead of the smooth surfaces (NURBS? or whatever it's called). Is there a setting I'm missing?

Edit: Bah! I'm an idiot. I didn't realize pressing 3 was any different from Mesh > Smooth. But it worries me there's no turning back once you've smoothed it..

You need something called Soften/harden edges. It has been a while since I've used Maya so I can't really remember how it works. But hopefully it points you in the right direction.

Blender will run on only 512MB of RAM but they do recommend having more:
