Actually, it was you :P

I already have a (more or less) coherent plot, I just want ideas for some crazy object that could be sought after, like the 3 golden toltec skulls in the eponymous game, the Big Whoop treasure or Necrowombicon from penny arcade.

I'm working on my first AGS game, which would be a surrealistic/mystery game in the style of Lemony Snicket or David Lynch, but with the trademark comedy touch of 1990s Lucas adventures. The plot would involve a certain Macguffin, so i wanted a little advice from you guys... What are the most unusual/uncommon Macguffin items you could think of? Something along the lines of the E-ticket from Monkey Island, or the Sugar Bowl from Lemony Snicket's books, or the Winslow from Phil Foglio's comics.

As i've already mentoned, i'd love a RON starter pack in DOTT graphic style, with SCUMM 9 verb GUI and stuff. It is for a specific project of mine, which would approach the realms of Nihilism and Surreality (i.e. the creepy pirate, the mysterious man in the cow suit, etc.) from the side of detective/pananormal investigation.

Ok, not really an entry, but... I've used a bit of my imagination and a lot of Photoshop to imagine what a game based on Burroughs' "Naked Lunch" could have looked like. More movie based, though...

Dun a quick mockup in Photoshop just to show u how i imagine things.
Spoiler
Of course, being the terrible failure of an artist I am, almost everything is borrowed from somewhere

Yep, it's supposed to be Interzone.

Unfortunately my art style sucks (and by this, i mean really, really sucks), so im not sure about this. However i so, so totally wouldn't mind anyone else picking the idea.

in an adventure game it would become more mainstream and convential, though.
Maybe but that would be nothing compared to poor kafka and hamlet.

I wrote a post on this about a week ago, now i start a new thread. According to the Gamesradar, the book "Naked Lunch" could be made into a text adventure... But now i'm saying, what's about a classic point & click game? Of course, the highly incomprehensible plot of the book would need a lot of changes, similar to how it was done in the Cronenberg movie. The plot of the game could follow Inspector Lee's surrealistic adventures on his missions for the "Islam Inc." as he travels to Mexico and the Interzone.

i believe that with Penny Arcade Adventures' very dark humor, the adventure gaming has crossed the line of cynism needed to adaptate "Naked Lunch".  i wouldn't even mind a couple of Penny Arcade-type action sequences, perhaps with Hauser and O'Brien... And as a cherry on top, i discovered some Naked Lunch fanart that looks highly adventure game-ish:

Naked Lunch: The Adventure Game. The one where you could go on surrealistic spy missions for Islam Inc., travel through the Interzone, Annexia and Freeland, meet mugwumps and other strange creatures and escape from Hauser and O'Brien. The closest (in my opinion) style would be Discworld 2: for instance, I can easily imagine A. J. and his baboon like this, and Hassan's rumpus room like that. Even if it included about 10% of the book and movie's material, it would still be an instant adventure gaming classic.

On the secret backers' forums, Double Fine has revealed some of their further plans after the release of the DF adventure (and it has already leaked on the net). It seems like they'll be joining forces with PCB to bring the long-awaited release of Toonstruck 2. As some of you probably know, TS2 is mostly finished, except for programming - but it was said that Tim's team will personally add some scenes, puzzles and characters to the game.

"Along with the movies like Cool World and Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Toonstruck was heavily inspired by the LucasArts classics. We've always had great respect for Tim's creations, so we are really proud to be working together with him and to give Toonstruck a flavor of Day of the Tentacle and Psychonauts", said Mr. Arem.

There are almost no new details on the game, except for the fact that it will include "a vast array of both new and already known characters, including Van Gogh, an evil cowboy, Warp & Woof, the WACME creators, and a gum-chewing fish - yep, THAT fish". The approximate release date is fall 2013.

Yoo-hoo, guys!

Update: It's just been taken down from backers' forums - I think it's because of the leaks.

Dunno if anyone has time and patience for this but i'd love to see a RON starter pack done in the style of DOTT/Sam & Max HTR (similar to DOTT-styled Bernard's house in Maniac Mansion Mania). Would've done it myself but i'm no great artist.

Thanks
