If anyone is using a Irish Character and doesn't want them to sound like Tom Cruise in Fara and Away I can do some voice acting.

That said, you'd want the Americans and other foreigners to be able to understand the character, meaning a full-on Kerry/Cork/Dub accent might be a bad idea...

(Heh, what're the chances two Irishmen would join at the same time? We own the Internet...)
I think accent can add some depth to characters, and there's still the written text on the screen to read.

I got a crash:
Opened a game(made with 3.0.0).
Compiled.
Tried to open another game (made with 3.0.0)
crash.

Anyway I wasn't unable to reproduce the problem, so maybe it's my fault.

Just one thing: the editor always ask to save game before exiting, but never asks for it when opening another game.

HI all. I'm recompiling my Roccio 's Quest with the new AGS version.
After a night fighting with script (dialogs aren't blocking anymore... ARRRGH) it should be fixed now.

I tried the game on my XP, and install/uninstall cycle works fine.

I need someone with Vista to test the installer: it should register/unregister the game, delete saved games AND screenshots when uninstalling. Please check if the big icon works (it's ugly, but it's just a placeholder).
A test with a 98 should be useful as well.

PM me and I'll give you the link where to download it.
Thanks a lot guys!

Err, Photoshop?  ;)
PNGOUT is more efficient.
If you have some basic scripting abilities, you can make a batch to convert multiple images at once.

Downloaded version 3.0 and like the new editor a lot. One problem I found out though:

What happened to the tga support? I only use tga-files for graphics, since I've got the alpha-blending to work with both photoshop and ags for those files only. But now it seems I can no longer import tga-files into AGS!? Why the hell not, I must ask?
Use PNGs, are smaller and have alpha channel.

3. When I click a function from the drop-down list, it jumps to the line. That's great, but if it has to scroll down to find the function I searched for, it will scroll only so far as to show me the TITLE (in the lowest line). It'd be a lot more convenient if it would try to scroll so much until the first line of the function is actually in the highest line and thus show more of the function itself (but check against the eof of the script, of course).
I think it's better if the searched line is in the middle. Maybe one wants to search something at the beginning, and another is searching a last line.

That definitely looks like an internal .NET error, and I'm glad you've sorted it by reinstalling -- but I'm a bit worried that a major Microsoft distribution like .NET could go wrong like that...

The automatic update messed up all. I downloaded the redistributable version and recovered the installation.

This is what it looks like on Vista Business:

Seems like there are some aliasing issues, and dunno if the grey drop shadow is intentional (black shadow is the usual consensus with alpha icons). Otherwise it looks good. :)
wow. Yep, the 256*256 sphere is without antialiasing.. I'll correct it (and the shadow too).
Thanks everybody. :)

I just tried to change the main background of a room with this 24bit png:

edit: I have just recovered the installation of Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0, and now it works.
Sorry for bothering.

Hmm, try removing a couple to take it down to 10 formats within the icon file, and see if that works...
Yes, I removed all the 24bit images and now it compiles, but I have no idea how it's seen now on a 98.
Whatever.

I have a problem using {this icon} when compiling.
AGS says it contains too much icons, but I just added all formats Vista supports (http://www.axialis.com/tutorials/tutorial-vistaicons.html#t2), plus:
48*48 24bit
32*32 24bit
16*16 24bit
32*32 8bit
24*24 8bit
16*16 8bit
16*16 4bit

Which one of these should I remove? ???

Hello everybody, I need a little favor:
can you test if this icon works under Vista, XP, 98?
It should work under XP, but I can't test it with other OS.

Here is the icon

I need to know if it has ugly borders under 98 and if Vista loads the 256*256 version.

Don't just left-click on it, or your browser will open it as an image.

Thanks for your help.

Ok, Updated. (The title font name is Edition)

Do you think that the options font should be the same of the title?
#34
Mmm, I'll search something more appropriate on acid fonts.

#35
:) yep, but I'd prefer to have a font which isn't easily connected to any brand or movie.

The old font was certainly more dramatic... I really like the new artwork! :D
I agree, but it seems the "Marlboro" font.

  • When you create new subfolder in sprites or views you can't move the existents views into the new folder, some kind of copy/cut/paste would be nice
  • Add 5 Ctrl+Z level (I made doble click and I lost all because I fill the screen twice) it should have a few more undo levels
  • Add editing room zoom, it can't be so hard, just a + button and a - button.
I totally agree.

EDIT:
ok, the zoom thing is a bit tricky, but the folder thing could be really useful.

@ Chris: Just a thought, though it should probably go in the 3.01 wishlist: I really like the tabbed scripts and rooms, but find it slightly annoying that I have to right click to close them. How hard would it be to implement an "X" close icon on the side of the tabs, like in Firefox?
You can close tabs with ctrl-F4 or ctrl-W, I think much faster than a dedicated button, but it's just my opinion.
