Sounds like one of Kenta Cho's shooters.  Tumiki Fighters?

My vote goes to Babar's Treasure of Obese Bob - best graphics and hotspot descriptions.  Grats to everyone, all the games were fun to play!

I'm assuming the copy protection is just some function that runs before the game starts.  Can't you just disable any calls/jumps to the copy protection code?  I gave it a try but I'm new to debuggers and couldn't find it.

If it was hard to crack then there wouldn't be all sorts of elaborate measures like ARMA 2, Earthbound and Spyro 3, which would subtly make the game harder or impossible once the player has wasted enough time on it (I think, by hiding checksums of game data and comparing throughout the game).  Even then, there's a high risk of false positives causing outrage amongst legitimate users.  I'd imagine anyone intent on cracking an AGS game wouldn't struggle too much.

That level was a beast!  I thought I was just crap :P

Edit: Finished now, great game!  The graphics, music and gameplay were very retro and polished.

A great topic! It reminds me of the Simpsons episode Trilogy of Error, sadly I have neither the time nor writing skills this month.  I look forward to the entries!

I like multiple saves so I can follow up branches without replaying the game (which I probably won't bother doing).  In games with any fair amount of walking I like to save in several places when I'm stuck so I can jump between locations quickly to try things out.

I also obsess about corrupted files and will never save over an old save unless I run out of room or the save GUI is too cumbersome to browse through all the saves.  I like to have 99 save slots and will use about 20-30.

Nice one space!  Good theme too, ambitious choice of outline but it worked well.

EDIT: Phew, made it in time!

Glow effect was rushed, may fix that sometime.

This game is really really nice!  The graphics and music are wonderful, and I love abstract games like this with lots of exploration.  The story was simple but charming and while the game was very short, considering the quality and polish it's to be expected.  I found the brightness just fine on my CRT monitor, although mine is set a bit brighter than it should be.

My only criticism is to look over the interface a bit - the menus are fine but sometimes over exits they confuse the cursor, and cycling looks a bit odd on the title screen.  Given that there are only 2 modes a left-use right-look interface might feel more fluid.

I'd love to see more work from you in this style.

The Start menu isn't designed for accessing every single file on your system.  If you want to put games in your start menu, put the ones you most frequently used.  I find the start menu very inefficient and would rather it were replaced by more taskbar space.

In 1280x1024 I have room for 204 icons on my desktop, all requiring a double click, or typing the initial letter several times and pressing enter.  If you want your huge folder of games close at hand then make a shortcut to the folder on your desktop.  If you don't have enough icons to store all your regular programs and unsorted files and downloads then download a program to manage it for you.  The only one I've tried is Launchy, and it seems nice enough although most things are already on the desktop in clear view, and can be accessed with Windows+D.

In short, if your Start menu is so annoying then use something else.
