QuoteDid you take a picture or is it made from what was there, plus memory?
I painted it on the spot.

Thanks milkanannan. It's a beautiful place. What the picture doesn't show is the crowd in Summer  :P

Nice picture, Mouth of War. Are you still working on your isometric game?

I often wonder what the painters of old would say about a camera.
I guess they would be depressed. Your precious skill, which was the only way to keep a visual track of the past, becomes only decorative.

QuoteIs it inspired by a real place?

Yes. The marshes of Müllenbourg on the island of Noirmoutier. Even the donkey was there.

Completed Game Announcements / Re: 30 minutes

I didn't fare well on my first attempt.

I won't give up but a couple of things are trying my patience:
- the unskippable walks - especially considering the time limit.
- all the doors look the same. Some indications would be welcome.
- no feedback for the wrong actions.

The couple of puzzles that I solved were good.

Painted a couple of days ago.

Thanks for the feedback Lorenzo  :=

QuoteI would've preferred to use the keyboard to jump (maybe by pressing space, like in the other episode).
I used the mouse for jumps because I was afraid AGS wouldn't handle the combination of three different keys well.

QuoteBoth episodes have very smooth animations and fluid gameplay. I liked the graphics: the 3D effect in the horse riding section is really cool and episode 7 has a nice feeling of depth.
TBH, I had a hard time operating the 3D module properly. The game was built around what I could achieve - a little bit like Paper Planes with Last & Furious source code.

Unlike Barbwire, I like the high res portrait better.

Upgrading every asset to this resolution is no small task though.

I enjoyed the first one. It was quite long. Good luck with this one.

QuoteI just played Episode 12 and it was fun! Definitely not easy - sometimes you have to get the combination of swinging, jumping and climbing just right but I did get to the end.
Glad you like it. I kept it short because I know that the controls are not very tight.

QuoteI am right handed so it was a bit weird using the arrow keys, usually on the right side of a keyboard, as well as the mouse.
Many First or Third Person Shooters use them. Or WASD keys + mouse. Would you have preferred another combination?

QuoteWhen I got to the top, the character disappeared for a while. I clicked and swung the invisible character until it came back to the screen to complete the game. I assume this is a bug.
I haven't come across this bug. Do you know how to trigger it, or where?

General Discussion / Re: Good Movies You Hate

QuoteBirdman - The filming style and stage-within-a-stage stuff seemed cool, and the characters seemed interesting, and a New York theatre troupe is a cool setting...but I've tried twice and can't make it through this movie. I don't even know why. I just cannot get myself to care about the plot.
I have it on my laptop but haven't finished it either.

QuoteAnother "good" movie I hated is Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.  Now there are some valid criticisms of this movie, but it's otherwise well received by regular people.  I just didn't care for it.  It was ordinary.  Then again, I haven't seen it in decades, so maybe it deserves another chance.  I'm sure my wife would love it if I tried again.  Anyways, Men In Tights is the all-time best Robin Hood movie.
The "good" Robin Hood that I don't like is the one with Russell Crowe - too serious.  It may not be a masterpiece but I had a good time with Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves as a child, thanks to Alan Rickman notably.

Nice backgrounds and intriguing setting.

The characters' bodies look a little bit funny.

Thank you :)

I really enjoyed the MAGS version of Brothers & Wreckers, nice to see that you're still working on it!
On and off, I have to admit.

QuoteEpisode 1 and 7 finished, but 12: No chance, get stuck and cannot escape the "room". Maybe something with the reaction of the mouse (I have a trackball), but I never got more than just half a centimeter higher than the cave.

You cannot enter the cave.
Have you tried alternately pressing the right and left arrows in the direction of movement, several times? Gain momentum and climb on the right side.
The cave is badly designed on my part. I need to put a monster inside to deter the player from approaching.

QuoteAnyway, I am not too much into arcades. But nice, new ideas. Keep up the good working!
Yeah, proposing an arcade game on the AGS forum isn't the smartest choice. Nevermind, I just felt like trying it.
The next episode should be more to your liking.

Poor Vince and Gus. Their parents have been abducted by pirates!

Features:
- Pretty pixels (320*180)
- Glorious 8bit chiptunes.

The game currently contains three small episodes with different types of gameplay.:

EPISODE 1 - released in November 2019 - Point & click

EPISODE 7 - released in March 2020 - Mouse shooter

EPISODE 12
- NEW - Pitfall-like?

Although Flugeldufel sailed to new horizons after the release of the first episode, I still work on the series from time to time.

Special thanks to Abstauber who allowed me to use his gorgeous picture from the November 2019 background blitz in the 12th episode.

Progress:
I have another episode in the making. After that, I don't know.
Don't expect all the loose ends to be tied up eventually. I concentrate on delivering a fun and varied experience.

New month, new proposition:

Billy Masters Was Right

Poor Billy's been grounded and his credibility has reached an all-time low.
Not the best time to stick his nose in the neighbor's affairs - or is it?

Let's enjoy this first foray by Postmodern Adventures in the English-speaking world. It's short but perfectly Mastered.

Reds by and with Warren Beatty. I couldn't stand his ego trip for very long.

Strangers on a train by Alfred Hitchcock. It may be a classic but I found the plot silly in several places.

Why can't the hero withdraw from his tennis match? What carousel can turn that fast? And many more

300 and Sin City. Frank Miller is all style and no substance for me.

I kinda like the feeling of disconnection that Lost in translation creates. Watching it in good company certainly helped me stand the slow rhythm.

I've tried to watch Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas twice but gave up each time for the same reasons as Mandle.

Could the '20s be refering to the 2020s or is it only the 1920s?

It looks good VW. Now it's clearly a children's park.

I like Joseph's low res saloon too. Especially the colors.

QuoteYou loot the orc of all his valuable possessions.
"Hey Oddjob, I see you've found my stash!" The orc says.

> You congratulate orc on a fine stash and become best friends forever with the orc.
You become best friends with the orc, who is actually called Gruzub.

That's a very accommodating orc (laugh)

Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me. I type things but never get a reply.

Gorgeous title screen. Because the train goes so fast, I was expecting a more energetic song. Not that I dislike it  :)

QuoteYeah... I worked in the travel industry. It's been a bloodbath.
For the travel industry or for people who dared to fire you?

Thanks to the COVID, I now have my very own cosplay of the Sanitarium guy:
