I believe this was asked many times already ;).

Also you may consider setting "skip dialog text with mouse or keyboard only".

But in any case, this referes only to creating the game, not playing game created by someone else.  :'(

I am looking for a composer who could write atmospheric music (MP3 or MIDI, MP3 better, but I can survive good MIDIs as well :P) for a very short horror game. If you feel you can create appropriate tracks for a dark and mystic story, please PM me ASAP, for I am trying to make a fast MAGS entry now (actually there's no hurry now, because I am late for MAGS anyway ;).

Here's one screenshot of the in-game scene: http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/2941/openeyesscreenshot001.png

Sorry, this vacancy seem to be closed ;)

I can't stop thinking about terribly bored alien teenagers on vacations.
Seriously... Look around. Highly-technological does not mean highly-enlightened.

You always knew hitting the ceiling is counterproductive.

I think it is possible to simulate input box with a Label, where you can put | in the end of text.

Just a quick thought, maybe there are other solutions.

Perhaps an old one, yet may be very funny helpful:

Hehe, thanks for sharing experience, Gilbet.
RickJ, the whole thing happen during cutscene, it isnt a puzzle at all.
Anyway, I think I got enough answers to make a decision, thanks :)

How very cheerful and optimistic.

:=

Seriously, it's drawn and animated very nicely. By the way, I guess that is smooth scrolling & paralax module working there? ;)
And what that box on wheels stand for? reminds me a spooky story about coffin-on-the-wheels I was told when I was a child.

Spoiler

I had a feeling in the end it will chase her down and something bad happen.

you will see that the walls are only about 5ft tall.  People stick their heads over top to chat with their co-workers all the time.   It would be unusual for someone to climb up and lean over at waist height however I believe it wouldn't be a problem for the wall to hold the weight.   if it were me I would have the character kneeling/standing  on a desk, box or something.
Well, my idea she is not just chatting, she wants to see computer display, while standing almost opposite to one's surface.
However idea of getting kneels to the desk sounds natural enough. But even then I believe person will apply some of its weight on cubicle wall when bending over.

For those who ever worked in the office with cubicles (cubicle farm, I believe?).
Is it safe for not-so weightly person to lean over cubicle wall and peek into another guy's computer? Assuming this person has to grasp on cubicle wall.

I am planning a small scene in a game where girl does this while talking with the guy. How realistic is that.

General Discussion / Re: RTS with AGS

As a small addition to what Khris said, I may give an advice to first make a game without enemy AI (at all). This will be way simplier and meanwhile you may gain some experience in coding.
In my opinion AI will be the toughest part of such game.
Basic visuals can be done really simply if you do not aim some top-quality graphics with supreme effects.

Meh... I am really busy lately and got certain problems IRL, so I can't work on MAGS game, my mind simply fail to concentrate on storyline.

I think I will be doing a "normal" non-MAGS game this time, since I already started project and I got a scenario half-written; perhaps I only shall need a "team of artists" as they say  ;D

Anyway, sorry for this.

Oh, and I would really love to see those two games announced above finished.

You can also make doors "dissipate" (turn from solid to transparent and non-clickable) when character passes by.
#13776
In my opinion this isn't a question of programming, but rather of logic. If you will be able to keep the logical threads in head (or better written somewhere, like in some design documentation), making a game won't be that difficult.

Also note that when Helme sais "if you have several, that depend on another it will mean lots of work" it does not mean "it will be so hard you better not try"  ;), it just means you will have to do lots of planning and typing.

Apart from these points, toggling/doing something depending on previous decisions is basic of games and easily solved using "if" statements as in Helme's example above.

I have a question. Can I use this module to make a totally custom dialog, like when dialog options aren't taken from dialog object, but inserted manually from some list?

Also, I think there's a mistake in information, it sais: AGS 3.2.1 SP-1 or later, but AGS 3.2 isn't yet released... did you mean AGS 3.1.2 instead?  ::)
#13778
I would like to see Shifter's Box nominated for kaputtnik's music  ;)
Well, and maybe also Box and/or Awakener for best short game.

Unfortunately I don't remember many new games I played.

One of the Gepard's projects could be nominated for Best Programming in a Non-Adventure.

My little game "The Only One" which I made as a parody on MAGS competition entry.  ;D

Guyserman, allow me to make a small and rather intuitive guess... are you opening "ac2game.ags" file from some open source project?
