Seems like all of you got really cool presents! ;)

Well, after I crashed the family's (pink) car, all I got was bowl.

But it's cool, I'll use it to eat cereals, it's my new thang. ;)

Actually, I also got some money from my aunt. That was cool and in time of need. And I bought some simple presents to my family. I actually remembered this year. :)

Peace out.

I would like there to be something tying the games together somehow...

A similar guideline to this could do the trick.

Imagine a day in the life of a poor private investigator (on another seeming break).

Or a day in a life of an investigator that belongs to a higher organistion that we explain in the guidelines.

Ockey, don't have to be an investigator  ;), but any kind of person with something that we choose will conect them.
Think Fahrenheit... or something like that.

I don't think that in any way will the games be too similar, it can only build up the curiosity of what others made from the (suggested) rules.

Actually as voh mentioned, maybe the rules should be just used as an inspiration.
That's why I'm pro guidelines, because they always play with your imagination and can stop those creative blocks you could have with starting a new project.

Should then there be 2 OROWs in a matter of a few weeks?

The first during the holidays for those who can enter,
and the second in early 2 oh 7, for those who weren't able to enter the first one, or weren't able finish what they planned for the first one.

I don't think it is impossible, especially because it is a one room thing, so its not much thinking involved (unless you are planning a mega spectacle, which you probably won't finish in any of the mentioned dates).

More entries, anyone?

Yeah. I love the way it is presented. They talk about something you wouldn't even dream hearing about in a noir movie, but the flow of the dialogs and the intonation along with the music makes this such a sweet unexpected piece.
Also Full Throttle knowers will feel some similarities.

I think what you're saying can lead to somwhere interesting and I believe, given enough time, there will be a group of people who will happily choose to help you in this kind of fun cooperation.
I also believe that not many people gave public proposals like this on these forums, so it will be kinda cool to see who you could and are going to work with if all this is true and goes by your plans.
This sounds interesting, so I'll keep an eye on this thread.

Squinky do you by any chance have kittens?

For me, when making puzzles, if there is no reason for a puzzle to exist I don't let it exist.

If you can't think of any real way to open a locked door other than a long convoluted process... Don't lock the door. That will "shorten" the game in a way but I'd rather spend time solving puzzles while chasing a murderer or disarming a bomb or freeing trapped alien slaves than unlocking a door. The door may just be blocking the way to all the good stuff inside the location, don't stop me from getting there.

Or just put another and more interesting way around it, just like they did in Grim Danfango.
Or Day of the Tentacle. Or even Monkey Island 2.

Do you rember those? When I first played the GF demo I was amazed with the whole climbing up to the ledge and entering the offices through windows. It was such a great and atmospheric thing.

The same thing happened, if I recall right, in Day of the Tentacle(oh you Tim, you). Hoagie was going through a chimney to get to the attic. When I was a kid and was watching my uncle playing this game, having Hoagie entering the attic window was one of the memories that got me remembering that game about 10 years later.

Also the time when you had to break in the kitchen in MI2 was great. The way they did it was in true adventure form. It was always screw the laws, and if it didn't go the ordinary way, it would go the fun way.

I'm sorry guys, I really don't know what are you talking about.

I actually don't even think it's that great as you are saying it is.
I believe it's a fad type of adventure games.
The only game that's got me rockin' me bootles( yes i made this word up. ) is Monkey Island 4.
I haven't seen more originality and atmosphere than this game and you better believe it.

Although for the sake of this community in the next couple of years I'll gather some time and play a bit of this Grimm Fadango.

Grim Fand....what???

Is that a Sierra game?

Thanks for the quick reply.
It is not don't wanna miss a thing.
I also thought it was, but only for a second, when I realised that it's a totally different melody.

Thanks for viewing.
Today on the radio I heard some song I've heard a million times before and about 20 mins ago it came to me that I want to download it.

Now, I remember the melody, and I believe the host was saying it was a ronan keating song. If it is not necessary, I would rather not hum the melody on my microphone, but rather I'd like you to make something out of these lyrics (they are app.):

.....the whole world (?to see?) that/and I don't want to miss you again....

obviously, these are not the real lyrics because I tried googling them, but if someone knows what I'm talking about, I'd appreciate it if he would post the info here.

peace

I believe Planktonman was a fade-type of n00b that was trolling around these forums, and it was impersonated by some AGSer (whaddya know!)...
Am I right?
