Yay!  Congratulations, man!

Here's a quick entry:

(Using the spoiler thing to prevent it from lagging others' connections.)

Spoiler
[close]

A weird sky in some strange barren land--the ground probably illuminated by a light close to the foreground.  And maybe random items or NPCs would appear at rightly-timed moments in the game.  Like first time around, you meet with someone who gives you information, and later when you return here, there's a discarded item needed to solve a puzzle.  And maybe sometimes you'll see a funny Easter egg on the top of one of the distant mountains.  Oh, the possibilities!

Congrats to the winners.

My votes

Concept: cat (I agree, the Game Boy aesthetic is a cool idea)
Playability: Creamy (the Asian setup could give plenty of possibilities--the dragon helping cross the lake; the Buddha statue maybe coming to life to give hints; and of course, the pagoda being a possible destination)
Artistic Execution: It was a hard choice, but I give it to Deabriel... feels like something from a Maniac Mansion series game, or perhaps one of the cartoony-style Sierra games.

Maybe a possibility is a hero rescuing kids.  Oh the possibilities with this theme!

I'll try it.  I made a simple mountain trail setting.  The person who might use this in a game can probably make up an inventory item the main character might pick up on the way, and perhaps the narrator could say what awaits higher up.

So not too long ago, I expanded more on that Momotaro of the Future story I did for the Fortnightly Writing Contest some time back.

And sent it to Fantasy & Science Fiction magazine.

Unfortunately, they weren't looking for that kind of story at the time.  But at least the guy in charge of submissions was nice enough to give me pointers on how to improve.

Well, it was worth a shot.

I wanted to post it here, but it was well above the # of characters the forum allowed in a post.

So, I'll share the link here, as I posted it on my WordPress site.

Here's my entry.

It's meant to be a belly-dancer, but the serious thirst and heat stroke really effed up the mental image.

I totally missed this announcement thread and found by sheer luck the game in the all games list.
I managed to play through the game and I must confess enjoyed every second of playing it.

Thank you.  Again, I decided to make the game a proof of concept, if anything else.

I finally got my game done.

This is...

Conifer Skunks: Osvald's Surprise.

Originally this was going to be for May 2019's MAGS, but it soon became obvious I would never get it done in time, even with an extension, so it's a stand-alone short game.  If anything else, it's a proof of concept.

Anyway, help Thyra find out what her husband Osvald is up to.

Oh, and sorry for any loud volume at first.  Once the game gives you control, just go into the System Panel and adjust the volume manually.

Yeah.  I changed the Resolution settings and the issue was fixed.  Thanks.

So, I've been trying to get my game to work.

But while the NPC is resizing properly, my player character is still large.

Am I missing some code to make her resize as well? (I set the walkable area scaling to 38% so both characters should have resized to that.)

Yeah, too bad I have too much going on in RL.

But to have a non-anthro animal as a main character... hmm... has anyone considered a "Honey Badger Don't Care" game?   (laugh)

Thanks.  I saved it on a txt file so if/when I do a Let's Play of this, I might give it a whirl.
#155
Dang!  If/when I get a chance to, I might have to check this out, and when I get enough through it, do an article to describe it.

Um, is there a walkthrough for this as well?  I have kind of a "know before you go" mindset.

I'd love to take you out on that offer, but none of the games I'm currently making is anywhere close to completion (which is primarily why I haven't announced them yet).
Just promise to interview me in five years time, if your website is still running.  :-D
Uh... that may be a bit tricky to keep.

We encourage you to make a Let's Play in the future then:) We will watch it with pleasure!

Sure, hopefully there's a walkthrough to help me play it before making a video.  I kinda have this mindset of "know before you go", so to speak.

Wow!  For a non-AGS adventure game, this looks really cool.

Figured I'd help get the word out via my WordPress blog.  Good luck with getting this completed--I'd love to see someone do an LP of this.  Maybe even someday try it out myself.

I'd love to, though unfortunatly I'm on vacation with limited Internet acess, but I'd be very happy to talk about the games I've made and my current project if you have time in two weeks.

Sure... feel free to send a PM about it if you like.

Hey, all!

So, I'm trying to break into freelance blogging, and am getting experience in it with WordPress.

I plan to blog on games, be they action platformer, RPG, or adventure.  Yep, it'd even include AGS games!

So, any AGS user wanna have an interview, or want to talk about an upcoming AGS game?  I'd love to help get the word out!
