@selmiak I saw what you did there. (laugh)

So, yeah, we might say Ada is cat's new "kitten". (laugh)

My votes

Concept: Rocchinator (if this doesn't best describe a sea setting, then tell me what does)
Playability: xBRANEx (so much to interact with, and I can so see myself repairing the boat to row to that island to find out what lies there)
Artistic Execution: Rocchinator (for some reason it has that Greek myth feel--and am I the only one who thinks of the NES game "Battle of Olympus" when I see this?)

My votes:

Most difficult and cumbersome to use: Roccinator (very difficult to use properly)

Most likely to injure the user: Roccinator (one screw up, and it won't be pretty)

Most tacky design: kconan (Nerf Spatula?  Please...)

YAY!

Congrats!

And welcome to the world, little Ada!

(Maybe when she's a little older, you could "start her right", so to speak, with some of those cute kiddie adventure games like "Freddie Fish".  Let's get her into adventure gaming early! (laugh))

@Riaise Oh geesh! (roll)(laugh)

Very neat scene, Rocchinator.  I might have to have you in some future game projects.

Wow!  Nice intro so far.  And funny how you spoof the Flintstones in a weird way.

No guarantees or promises, but I wanted to give this a shot. Got myself a surface pro 4 for incredibly cheap and realized that my horrendous art skill is only considered very bad with a surface pen. So I have a new confidence for this. Question on the theme: how far do we have to go into the past or future? Can the past be let's say the 70's or 80's or even the 1800's or does it literally have to be like 500+ years?

Well, it can be as far back (like ancient Egypt) or as recent (like the 1970's).  Just some sort of past time period.  Heck, it can even be a fantasy time period (like Arabian Nights or usual medieval fairy tale).  Just something that you know it's a past time period, and mixing it with something futuristic (like Star Trek style teleporters or phasers) would make it weird yet cool.  (It'd even be more interesting if, for example, it were a Wild West setting and the sci-fi phasers looked like sci-fi versions of six-shooters!)

Nice background DBoyWheeler!
It reminds me of one of the King's Quest games (was it the fourth?), where you had to swim to reach some faraway castle. Or something like that, I haven't played those games in ages.

I don't know, but I can definitely imagine half a dozen ways to die while traversing those waters, in true Sierra style. ;)

Might be either the second or the fourth.  Thanks for pointing out the similarities.

Oh, you sadistic madman, you!

Don't be shy about teaming up, Slasher and Mandle!

Thanks for getting this started.  Let's see what we get with this cool idea!

Decided to try my hand at this.

Here, we're on a beach of the sea, at sunset.  In the distance is an island with a castle--perhaps the protagonist's objective destination?

Maybe he/she might be brave enough to swim across, or perhaps he/she is waiting for a ship or some other ride.  Perhaps that protagonist needs to summon that ride.  What do you think?

Who remembers the cartoony war game "Cannon Fodder"?

Crowd: WAR!
Me (singing): Never been so much fun!

So, anyway, anyone have some fun memories of it, if you do remember?

Count me in!  Here's my entry:

This is called the "Flaming Vampic".  Kind of a hybrid of flame sword and a sword which steals the enemy's HP and heals the user with them (that's what the ribbons are for).

The problems:
(1) It's quite difficult to sheathe and unsheathe due to the blade's shape. Also, because it's a gold blade, it's malleable, so in intense battle it'll get bent outta shape REAL quick! [This oughta count as the "difficulty of use"]

(2) BECAUSE of the awkward shape and malleability of the blade, there's a chance the user might get injured. The user could also get injured if they wanted to throw the sword at an enemy, due to the ribbons attaching to the user.

(3) Because of the name and the fact the blade is made of gold, it's gonna be difficult for the enemy to take the user seriously. [This probably should count as "tacky design" in a small way.]

Here's my entry:

This is Chrono-Wally, whose super powers involve time.

He can stop time (makes for really cool rescues!), and can even time warp (this uses more power, however).  He can travel to the future (very useful to see what the bad guys are really plotting, so he can warp back to the present and warn the authorities); or travel to the past--to a certain extent (to prevent severe tragedies from occuring).
