If only I could do these competitions again...

But, hypothetically, if I did something like this... maybe the "Reaper" character could instead be Anubis from Egyptian lore?  Just a thought.

Maybe it could be healing one's spirit.  It might start out dark and downer, but you (the hero) turn things around to make things bright and cheery again.  Just a thought.

I looked at the intro image and thought "Aw, no Ad Avis?  Or at least Abdul Alhazred (King's Quest 6)?"  Still, good selection of villains to give the idea.  Best of luck to those entering.

Wouldn't it be funny if someone made a Majora's Mask reference?

Anyway, best of luck to the contestants here.

Aww, no photo of the cigar guy?

Oh well.

Good luck to everyone who enters.

I wanted to mention to you a lesser known first-person adventure game called "Dare to Dream".  And it is really bizarre.

Here are videos of a playthrough of the three volumes (parts, episodes, whatever) of the game.

Volume 1: In a Darkened Room https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyo22H2Liuk
Volume 2: In Search of the Beast https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzgqnx8VXi8
Volume 3: Christian's Lair https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGuxraCjrOQ

(Don't let the name "Christian" fool you.  He is the main antagonist, and a demon.  In fact, Volume 3 has it look like you're in a version of hell itself!)

Like I said, bizarre.  And this game was created by the same dude who'd later go on to create Jazz Jackrabbit!

I made my entry.

This is a stopwatch with a special power.  It can make any nonliving object (statue, bridge, etc.) or plant deteriorate more quickly, or can be reversed to rejuvenate it (makes a great inventory item to either break down a blockade, or restore a desroyed bridge; or even revive a dead tree).  It doesn't work on animals or humans--but it may be just as well.

@Elvis Tanner Why do I have the sudden feeling of "Ya Avoozl!" upon seeing that monument?
(Kudos to anyone who can guess which game I made reference to.)

Anyway, neat work.

First, @stylez75... Oh no you didn't!  XD

Second, here's my entry.

Spoiler

Went for a memorial to a long gone hero.  Maybe the player character needs to find certain relics or otherwise do other quests at the behest of the spirit of the warrior, and then afterwards you gain the sword.  Similar to Zelda: Link to the Past, yet at the same time, different.

This piqued my interested.  After seeing this theme, I penciled my idea, and will work on it in GIMP as soon as I can.

I hope I can get something in before the deadline.

Thanks.  Yeah, I seldom had much to speak of, but I do visit from time to time.

I had this random thought for those working on AGS games...

Wouldn't it be awesomesauce if Yuzo Koshiro (yes, THAT Yuzo Koshiro) did music for an AGS game?

Would blueprints (for a gadget or a building) count as a picture?  Just asking hypothetically.

A "hard to deliver" gift could indeed be a game about the bold post(wo)man who braves the forces of nature to deliver a package to someone living on a mountain ledge...I can see Donald Duck Cola Skunkette in that role.  :-D Or it could simply be finding and tracking down someone who has an unknown address, or perhaps the to and from is unreadable, so the player has to match the gift to the right person.

The Cola Skunkette is named Panphila Baniliakola.  But thanks for thinking of her.

Oh to be able to do these again...

But the idea of a "hard to deliver" gift... hmm... I could see some treacherous terrain being the obstacles for delivering a Christmas gift.

Anywho, good luck to those participating.

I follow the philosophy of "Simplicity counts".

Maybe this is also a possible new Care Bears idea?  You can interpret this any way you like.

@WHAM I can see the protagonist is willing to work for scale!  (Ba-da-boom!)

I whipped up a quick one.  Here is a star to represent a magic spell--and since it's blue, maybe we could say this is an Ice-element spell.

One of my friends started a Discord chat that is a tribute to Humongous Entertainment--the company that made Sly Fox, Freddie Fish, Putt-Putt... basically the kid-friendly point n click adventures.

Any fellow AGS friends (or adventure game fans in general) interested in joining?

Well, I so long to be able to make my own games here again... or find time to.  But I am willing to proofread dialogue if anyone needs a proofreader.
