Thanks, Kastchey.  Oh, and I like your avatar, btw.

[Update] Man, has it been THAT long since someone looked into this project?  I wonder how it's been since I last visited this thread?

Ah, more offering to translate, as well as Surdy's offer to translate to French.

If, by any good fortune, anyone wanted to do a Japanese translation, a good title for it would be
幸せ娼婦ナンã,·ãƒ¼
[Romanized: Shiawase Shōfu Nanshī;
Literal Translation: Happy Whore Nancy]

For the record, I used Google Translate.

I mean, just a thought.

Good point.

And sorry about the double-post, Darth.  I guess sometimes I forgot the edit button's there for a reason.

Just a little side note... it'd be cool if someone did an AGS game based on the anime and manga "Death Note".

Secret Fawful, do you know death gods love apples?

Heck, maybe it'd be fun if this game had a reference to Death Note or some other horror-themed anime/manga.

edit by darth - posts combined.  do not double post.

*chuckle* Show-off!

I suppose next someone will try to do it in Japanese (Romanized, of course--better known as Romaji).

The headless guy... for some weird reason, I can't help but think of the welder, aka John DeFoe, from 5 Days a Stranger.

I think it'd be funny (not to mention cool) if there were some subtle references to Chzo Mythos.  Like maybe Bitchy Barbara might have an autographed photo, and when a character looks at it, he'll mention that it's autographed by Ben 'Yahtzee' Croshaw (who of course created the Chzo Mythos).

*sigh* It's a shame that that thread of an EGA QfG3 was an April Fool joke, because that'd been interesting to see.  Heck, it'd also be fun to see EGAs of QfG4 and QfG5.  Maybe for the Rusulka in QfG4EGA, you could use nekkid Zayishah as a model.

For 3 and 5, we'd probably need something similar to the map of Shapier and Rasier of QfG2, except you walk around on the mapscreen when in the "overworld."

Again, it's too bad the thread of an EGA QfG3 was a joke, because it'd been interesting to see if they were real.

I can serve as a proofreader, if you like.

General Discussion / I finally got Twitter!

Yep, I finally broke down and got a Twitter account.

You can see it in my profile, of course.

Maybe in a sequel I can help as a proofreader...

Eh, for voices, if I'm not talking to another actual person, I sound a wee bit monotone--maybe I could try being a voice for a character who's semi-monotone in talking?  At least I'd be attempting to try another thing in doing games.

Maybe I'd be a character that tends to talk monotone enough that Nancy falls asleep in the dialogue (that'd be funny, huh?).

I could so imagine one review might say about Kinky Island:

"Monkey Island meets Leisure Suit Larry!"

Um, something to help keep the project alive (if it hasn't been completed yet).

Technocrat, if you need a proofreader, I can be of service.  :)

Cool!  Thanks.  It's a good thing this thread is in my bookmarks, so I can hunt for something here when I need it.  It may be a long time before I do such a game, but when I'm ready, I'll have the info I need.  Thanks again!  :)

Now that this thread has been unlocked, I want to be a bit of a good Samaritan and help reestablish interest in this project (that, and I also helped a bit with the brainstorming).

Concerning the RPG with AGS... someday I may want to do something Quest for Glory style.  I can find the Day/Night tutorial thread and the Hunger tutorial thread (and I'd probably do it in the style of the first four QG games where the hero would eat automatically if he had rations), and perhaps other things I can try to search for or ask for if needed, but I thought I'd ask this out of curiosity...

For some of these ideas, I'd probably need more than the 200 save state rooms alloted, so... I'm just guessing this, but for the non-save-state rooms, would they be best for the "overworld" areas?  I'm also guessing you'd need global variables to check if a monster is chasing you or not, and how many screens you'd have to run before the monster loses interest in you and leaves you alone.  If my guess is incorrect, feel free to correct me on this.

what can we expect by "non-linear graphics" ? Curvy graphics?  :-[

The curviest! In all the right places! (if you know what I mean)

As the Monty Python group would put it, "Nudge nudge wink wink say no more."

At first I forgot my password to log back in, so I requested the link multiple times, but I never got a single email.

No worries, I soon found my way back to log in.

But what is with the delays?

At any rate, I'm finally back.

[Oh, and if I posted in the wrong folder, go ahead and move it to the correct section.]

Wow!  Nice artwork, dude!

I hope someone asks you to help out on their AGS games, if they had not already.

Yep, I see we're starting anew with offering of services in the forum.

Since I'm somewhat new to AGS, I may not offer much, but I can serve to aid in brainstorming, and can also serve as a proofreader.  Just ask me in a private message and I can share my email address with you (if you're comfortable with that; if not, then just feel free to share the dialogue and what-not in the private message and I'll check the spelling and grammar for you).
